BRUSSELS BANS CHRISTMAS TREES because they are offensive to Muslims
barenakedislam.com ^ | 11/09/2012 | n/a

Who’s next? London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Dearborn? Until last year there was an annual Christmas tree standing in the center of the Grote Market in Brussels. Councillor Bianca Debaets regrets that this year the traditional Market tree will not be there. “I suspect that the reference to the Christian religion was the decisive factor,” she added.

he City has announced that there will be no tree at the Grote Markt this year. It will be replaced by an exhibit of lights that looks like an Evergreen tree. Debaets is not happy with that decision as she sees Christmas being gradually replaced by “Winter Celebration’ terminology. “Not that the Christmas tree is a Christian religious symbol, but the tree obviously is a reference to Christmas itself, which is why it has been banished from the Market. And that’s a shame. “

Debaets think a historical and multireligious city should keep the historical traditions alive while allowing all ideologies (even the violent ones like Islam?). “For a lot of people (Muslims) who are not Christians, the tree there is offensive to them,” she concluded.

“What’s next?” Debaets wondered. “Will all eggs be banned from the city because they are symbolic of Easter? Is this what Brussels has become – a Muslim city?

The religion of peace isn’t as concerned with offending Christians,it would seem,as the libs of the world are about “offending” THEM!

Christmas lights in a tree shape are still too evocative of Christmas.

I suggest a tasteful, tree-shaped array of Mohammed cartoons.

I heard there is no Christmas
In the silly Middle East
No trees, no snow, no Santa Claus
They have different religious beliefs
They believe in Muhammad
And not in our holiday
And so every December
I go to the Middle East and say…

“Hey there Mr. Muslim
Merry f—ing Christmas
Put down that book the Koran
And hear some holiday wishes.

In case you haven’t noticed
It’s Jesus’s birthday.
So get off your heathen Muslim ass
and f—-ing celebrate.”

I think the tradition of firing guns on new years eve should begin a week sooner, and for effect.

We have enough fur trees for several generations of Christmas trees on our land in Tennessee. We will always shine a Christmas tree.

North Carolina for one, since colonial times.

Chant of the New Years Shooters

Good morning to you, sir. We wish you a happy New Year,
Great health, long life, which God may bestow
So long as you stay here below. May he bestow the house you're in,
Where you go out and you go in. Time by moments steals away,
First the hour and then the day. Small the lost days may appear,
But they soon mount up to a year. Thus another year is gone,
And now it is no more of our own, but if it brings our promises good
As the year before the flood, but let none of us forget
It has left us much in debt, a favor from the Lord received
Since which our spirits hath been grieved. Marked by the unerring hand,
Thus in His book our record stands. Who can tell the vast amounts
Placed to each our accounts? But while you owe the debt is large,
You may plead a full discharge. But poor and selfish sinners say,
What can you to justice pay? Trembling last for life is past
And into prison you may be cast. Happy is the believing soul,
Christ for you has paid the whole. We have this New Year's morning
Called you by your name, and disturbed you from your rest,
But we hope no harm by the same. As we ask, come tell us your desire,
And if it be your desire, our guns and pistols they shall fire.
Since we hear of no defiance, you shall hear the art of science.
When we pull trigger and powder burns, you shall hear the roaring of our guns;
Oh, daughters of righteousness, we will rise and warm our eyes
And bless our hearts, for the old year's gone and the New Year's come
And for good luck, we'll fire our guns!

The story of the Belgians in the world wars is one of courage and determination against a vicious enemy.

Sadly, things have changed. The snake will eat the mouse.

It’s already here. How many schools do you see giving a Christmas holiday? How many schools sing Christmas carols? How many neighborhoods - other than mine - do you drive through where you see a nativity scene? How many companies answer the telephone by saying Merry Christmas?

Saw the first batch of Christmas cards at our local Hallmark right after Halloween. Not a one of them said Merry Christmas on the front or had a picture of a star rising in the east with the three wise men.

What, if anything, is our breaking point?

We are like frogs in a pot of water, with the temperature of the water slowly and steadily being raised.

The frogs will notice nothing, and so will perish. Western civilization will notice nothing, and so will perish.

Funny how all these innocent Christian customs offend these savages but whacking heads off and flying planes in to buildings doesn’t.

“BRUSSELS BANS CHRISTMAS TREES because they are offensive to Muslims” This remark brought to mind how during O’s campaign he used the “offend and hurt my feelings” a lot. Must be in their bloodline.

Yes he was: immigrated from Italy before 1900. Never took a dime from the G. Joined the calvery in WWI to get his citizenship. Hated democrates with a passion “I came here to get away from the communists and socialists, not going to vote for them”. Never joined social security because it was a “government scheme”. Unfortunately he died 50 years ago but I recall him fondly.

***** “ Unfortunately he died 50 years ago but I recall him fondly.” ******

When I was a young boy my Mother used to take all us kids to Retirement Homes (we called them Old Folks Homes) and we would sing and basically be in Grandma and Grandpa Heaven!

That was about 50 years ago, I still remember those days and conversations... I wanted to know if any of them knew “Billy the Kid”, or “Jesse James” of course they all did and had great stories to back it up. (the Art of Storytelling has suffered greatly since TV showed up)

Like you the recollections are priceless, the older I get the more I think about those days.

Hope my Generation and the two following are as tough as those folks were (not counting on it) cause the next 20 years is not going to be much fun.
