CIA Director David Petraeus today submitted his letter of resignation to President Obama. The move was announced in a statement by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. The excuse he has cited is an extra-marital affair. I’m not buying it. The timing just before some of the the most serious Congressional hearings of our time, (the Benghazi hearings) next week, is more than intriguing.

The only way I could see this as a valid reason to step down is if he was boofing a Mata Hari and compromised national secrets.
If that happened why wouldn’t Obama use the opportunity to burn the evil military guy in public?
Show himself to be a real CIC that doesn’t fool around and takes national security seriously?
Of course, he had to give a reason and one that people wouldn’t question. No one would say they were having an affair if they weren’t.

This scares the living daylights out of me. Not because I am a fan of Petraeus, but because of the closed door meeting this week, the other top brass who were “relieved”, & Clinton’s resignation (not buying her plans to run in 2016)

If this is even remotely true, it is the LEAST of what petraeus has to answer for. The VERY least.

This looks like a paint job done after the fact. General Petraeus is taking retirement from the CIA not for the stated reason (infidelity), which looks more and more like a “honey pot” setup, but because he was not willing to act the patsy for this criminal regime operating out of the White Hut.
The cover story, that he indulged in an extramarital affair, is meant to make him radioactive.
He had become a satellite of the Current Regime in what is considered to be a “non-political” position, to keep him shut up about what REALLY happened in the CIA.
Resignation is the only honorable course of action when the corruption is as deep, corrosive and pernicious as what has been going on.
The fact that a “gotcha” was planted on him as he was being rushed out the door, is just their way of pre-emptively discrediting whatever he may have to say.
