For the most part everything played out as I feared in this February 16th, 2010 article Coming Sequel to the Romulan-GOP Schism.
The thesis of our party splitting our conservative votes over multiple candidates, thereby electing the ONE weak candidate in the race became the reality. The pundits of Fox News who are mainly responsible for this outcome are now telling us we need to further abandon the fundamental principles upon which our party was founded. We need to further -become- the Democrat Party to defeat them as though this were simply a sporting event devoid of any moral rectitude.
Once again, they are wrong. Once again they betray us. We lose because conservative principles have not been competently articulated by a GOP Presidential nominee since Ronald Reagan. We have not had a true conservative presidential nominee since Ronald Reagan.
Sure we could finally start a new party. BUT why should we? The notion that we would need to start a new party is patently absurd. We are the MAJORITY. The liberals running the GOP need to be run out on a proverbial rail. There is NO REASON why we should have to abandon OUR party to a minority of 30% (at the most).
It is TIME for us to take over leadership of our party. My favorite founders Hamilton, Adams and Washington, unlike Jefferson were passionately against the French Revolution from the beginning and were prescient in their predictions of how tragically it would end. As bad as the French Revolution was, I cannot resist the metaphor that came to my mind after November 6th, 2012. If we have to have a figurative "reign of terror" to finally extricate these people from the GOP national leadership, than that is what needs to be done. Let us not forget their treacherous actions at the convention in Tampa to arrogate more power onto themselves. Remember their penchant for private jets and strip clubs with our donations. Their attitudes can be likened to the French aristocrats, not because of wealth but because of their condescension, impropriety and their breach of fiduciary responsibility as leaders. On that note I say - Storm the damned Bastille. It is time to stop pussyfooting around with these apostates.
Here's the message for the GOP establishment: There needs to be an immediate, mass exodus by these people at the RNC - or we are coming for them. Here's a message for the "Architect" Karl Rove, Fred Barnes and the entire Fox News round table who repeatedly manipulate our party every election: Disappear. Retire. You have done enough damage. Go out gracefully. We need to forget you. If cable offered "a la carte" right now, Fox News would be off of my cable package and replaced by TheBlaze TV. In fact, they will be replaced the minute I get the news. Conservatives have warned Fox for the past six years and yet they have given us the one finger salute. That is what is going to happen in a matter of time - so get your popcorn ready.
As I propounded in the "aforelinked" column in 2010, a mandatory runoff between the top two vote leading presidential candidates MUST be promulgated in each and every state where the leader has less than 51% of the party vote. In the following video I elaborate on this concept and once it is codified there will NEVER again be a hijacking of our presidential nomination. Never again - will the majority of the party be forced to accept the weakest advocate for our fundamental principles. Never again - will the 30% wag this dog.
(Video here) This full article that I wrote contains several significant back-links that I could not get in here. See blog for back-links and video if you would like.
Best regards.
The title states, "...When a la carte arrives."
Then the only other reference to a la carte is this;
If cable offered "a la carte" right now, Fox News would be off of my cable package and replaced by TheBlaze TV. "
#1. Cable does not offer a la carte. And it never will.
#2. If this jerk is going to select GBTV over FoxNews then he has no credibility in my book.
Plus, I do not think GBTV is available on anything but the 'net.
Yeah, I know. I am kind of sick of all the nastiness towards our side during the election.
We actually help the left beat up on us.
Kind of despicable really.
How? They hold all the levers of party power and the Romneyists changed the convention delegate rules. Just like all those who said "we'll hold Romney's feet to the fire" -- it's sound and fury, signifying nothing.
We tried it their way on Tuesday and got fewer votes than the last time we tried it their way four years ago. It's time for a different way.
Cavuto just announced that Petraeus would not be testifying in front of the committee next week. Something smells bad here.
The GOP needs to do what the Indianapolis Colts did, clean house, from top to bottom.
How conveeeeeenient.
I agree but Scott’s point is we are really the majoirty then we should aim our fire at the leaders in the GOP and kick them out. he told them they better quit or retire gracefully or in shame or as he put it people are coming for them.
That may not be enough. I support creating a new political party. A conservative Party of America.
I’ve read some good rants here at Free Republic. This is not one of them.
Cable will soon have to offer A la carte. They only resist it because of their leftisit agenda to force people to pay for all the left-wing M-TVs, Bravos and other homosexual, deviant propaganda that depends upon their abuse of shareholder assets for survival.
How many parents would cognizantly choose these M-TV’s to teach their children casual sex, the trivializing of teen pregnancy and all of the other disgusting *&^%$# with which they inculcate?
So we agree there is no cable a la carte. I guess where we diverge is that the market forces are evolving to the point where they will be forced to offer the channels that we want as the technology is there and alternatives are coming.
It’s time for Texas to take its rightful place and assert control over the party....We are the only large state that reliably votes Republican, we have twice as many electoral votes as the next biggest Republican state, and yet, we have no say over the nominee, it’s decided even before we have our primary. That’s wrong, and the Texas GOP needs to stand up and demand we take our rightful place in the Party.
Feel better now GS? Whatever loser.

It really is absurd. But if we must leave, I think we should justr call our new party - “Thee Republican Party” or “The Original Republican Party”. How’s that for originality? Or how about officially naming it “The Party of Lincoln”.
Not a bad start.
The Framers’ Party would do it for me.
Here’s a excerpt from an op-ed link is at the bottom.
“Deja Vu All Over Again-Another “can’t lost” moderate...loses”
“...Lord insists we need more “New Reagans” — people of all backgrounds, all races, all religions — who are well-versed in conservatism.
And where did Marco Rubio, now hailed by the Republican establishment as a 2016 favorite, come from? Not from the RINO establishment. It backed Charlie “Tan-in-a-Can” Crist and fought Rubio tooth and nail. It was the Tea Party and Constitutional Conservative movement that gave birth to Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, etc.
There are flawed candidates, to be sure, among those backed by the conservative wing of the Republican Party. RINOs point to Sharon Angle and Richard Mourdock, for example, forgetting that no one wins 100 percent of their slate. Until the afternoon of election day, when the unions started busing in voters from places unknown, Angle was in fact leading Harry Reid handily.
And one inappropriate and/or misconstrued remark by Mourdock (and a crackpot third-party candidate) helped cook his campaign.
It’s not the conservatives who need to go away. It’s the RINO establishment that should make themselves scarce. Once again, a mushy centrist — who supposedly would appeal to wide swaths of the electorate — lost in a race that should have been a slamdunk.
And in this existential showdown between liberty and tyranny, Mitt Romney could not even attract the same number of voters as... John McCain. Constitutional conservatives, Tea Party conservatives, and fiscal conservatives don’t need to retreat. The RINO country club set needs to cede control to the true heart of the party. And if they refuse to cede power, we will defeat them as we have time and time again.”

Fox gives both sides a soapbox to express their views, but I really wish they would stop the people representing the two sides from talking over each other. Some say this is why they can't watch Fox news. They prefer the civil tone on CNN. What they forget is they only receive the Democrat/Socialist viewpoint.
FOX News, the only network exposing Fast and Furious and the Benghazi incident. I’ll keep FOX and the koolaid drinkers can switch to CNN or MSNBC.
It WOULD be nice to see Geraldo, Juan and Shep get the boot.
Good post.
Right now Fox is the best available. The Blaze will get on cable and it will surpass Fox because they will not insult us by subjecting us to drunken imbeciles like Bob Beckel and socialist cretins like Juan Williams. Equal time to propigate platitudes and fallacies does not constitute “balance”.
Fox News needs competition from the right. It would result in a better product. Not talking about Glen Beck. A real network. I think our best hope is for one of the three majors to shift focus. I have already seen signs that CBS wants to leave the "liberal plantation."

OK, here’s a suggestion. How about I establish an escro fund and we hire some private investiagtors to investigate their past activities at these events. That would PROBABLY do the job.
Just for good measure, as far as we can legally - we keep these private investigators andf track them everywhere they go.
Or- these people can just honor the wishes of the majority and leave NOW.
By best suggestion for hard ball for now.
