How's it feel to elect Obama?

Well, you didn't vote for Romney and we have 4 more years of Obama. Feel good?

I feel that I've wasted too many years among a bunch of spoilers.

No more.

>>Don’t blame our loss on your fellow conservatives. Blame it on the GOP for once again, giving us a candidate who did not inspire a sufficient percentage of the base to vote for him.<<

Windflier, you were one of the worst offenders. You crowed endlessly about how much more righteous and principled you were than the rest of us.

You actually told me at one point you found me “disgusting” because I was going to abandon my conservatism and vote for Romney. And now you have the audacity to come on this thread and declare your superiority to us once again.

Shame on you.

I hope you feel like you made your point and sent a “message.”

Because I think your “message” is going to be drowned out by the sound of America and all of our freedoms going down the drain.

Congratulations.

I treasure those who stood by and mourned with me

i know a group of people who were out every day for 6 months fighting for a state Senate seat. Door bells. Phone calls. Events. Etc.

They fought hard on election day from 6am to 8pm. They got 49.8% and lost to a flaming lefty. I mourn with people like that and no one else.

I find it humorous seeing how many people here at FR blame the few members that did not vote for Romney for Obama’s election win.

The fault lies completely with the GOP-e.

They would not run a Conservative, and spent a lot of resources trashing Conservative candidates and Conservatism itself.

They would not fight against voter fraud, and woo'ed the illegal alien insurgent criminal crowd for their votes.

And they will probably run Romney again in 4 years.

Remember 4 years ago when McCain gave the election to Obama about 4 weeks before the election?

His statements that there is nothing to fear from Obama and he would make a good president is still the GOP mantra.

The GOP elected Obama to another term.

They are still excited and proud to be a part of history in helping elect the First Black Present.

Sorry to see you go, I have enjoyed disagreeing with you all these years.

I live in Texas and Romney got all Texas electoral votes. My vote had no effect on that.

Oh, I do understand all that. It’s just that after such a mind-boggling stream of things that Romney supported, from gay-adoption to cap-and-trade to his own Romneycare mess, all WILDLY unpalatable... to top things off by not even giving a pat “people are standing up for their beliefs” answer to the Chick-Fil-A protests, just came across as a final insult, conveying this guy doesn’t share a single damn value of mine. Then, the outlawing of the words “tea party” at the convention (when two years ago, it was the tea party that contributed to much of the GOP’s mid-term victories), was like being spit in the face.

Thus, my only point: Obama winning again is an all-out horror. But unlike previous elections, I’m not in mourning for the losing GOP nominee, because I ultimately had no trust in him.

Romney made his share of mistakes, but to say we didn't have a whole bunch of purists who voted third party or stayed home, enough to reelect a far worse and more destructive alternative than RINO Mitt is simply a lie.

Lake, that's not what I said, and I don't believe that's what happened.

You paint a portrait of tens of millions of people who intentionally turned their backs on their countrymen out of some sense of holier-than-thou purity, even while knowing that doing so would likely result in the re-election of the worst president in history.

I honestly do not believe that to be the case.

While it's true that tens of millions of Republicans didn't vote for Mitt, I think the reason lies in the fact that he didn't inspire them to do so. Remember that not everyone who votes Republican is as well informed and consequently as alarmed as you and I about the state of our nation.

I talked to two good friends just before the election, and in passing said, "Did you vote yet?" Both of them indicated to me that they hadn't even registered, and had little interest in the election. I was dumbfounded, but I realized that these people who would have voted Republican, simply were not inspired enough to make the effort.

From what I've read in recent days, this was also the case for many on the Democrat side. Millions of Americans were simply too disillusioned or uninspired to bother.

Whose fault is that? Theirs, or the candidates?

They couldn’t vote for Romney because he was a MORMON.
***How many was that? Maybe 500 across the country. And that’s worthy of you posting against it? Get a grip.

God will tell you to your face that you are an ungrateful, prideful, arrogant hypocrite and a fool.
***You presume to know what God will tell someone? Over a vote? You have an incredible level of arrogance.

Your only principle is STUPIDITY if you did not vote for the Republican in all of those elections.
***Your principle is that you’re a troll. FR is NOT a GOP website. JimRob states explicitly on the front page that we are not beholden to ANY political party. This is a conservative site, not a GOP site. By railing against conservatives on a conservative website, you damage conservatism. That is trolling. 0bama thanks you for your trolling efforts and the damage you have done to conservatism.

Because I think your “message” is going to be drowned out by the sound of America and all of our freedoms going down the drain.
***So, this election was that important, huh? Then why didn’t the GOP act like it was that important, and go out of its way to give us a true conservative rather than what JimRob called a “lying, baby-killing, gun-grabbing statist”? Because the problem is the GOP, not your fellow conservatives, especially your fellow conservatives who turned out to be right about what a huge mistake it was to put this POS in front of us as a candidate. So pour out your anger on the GOP rather than on fellow conservatives. This is a conservative website, not a GOP website. So many romney rump rangers seem to have forgotten that.

“How do I cancel the monthly donation? “

So you want to abandon FR because a few posters were idiots and wasted their votes?

Hoe does that make sense?

The leader of FR and most posters; had come to terms and were very much behind getting RR elected.

Let me state the obvious:

You consider yourself more “pure” than the rest of us, since you did NOT vote for the Republican in recent history.

However, YOU are allowed, in your warped mind, to make moral judgments about those of us who are smarter than you and more practical than you.

In your warped mind, we are NOT allowed to make the same obvious moral judgments about YOU?

On principle, I think you are an arrogant, prideful, ungrateful fool, and I am, YES, quite sure that God will ask you:

“Why did you let the perfect be the enemy of the good?”

Since, of course, we are not to put our faith in ANY Prince, and since perfection will never be obtained in this life.

I saw enough people on FR to understand there were a lot of die hard Romney haters everywhere that preferred their self righteous purism about RINO Romney allowing the more obvious and most destructive alternative of the current Marxist regime staying in power.

I heard one of them on Rush yesterday, sounded just like the traitorous cretins on FR. Rush was incredulous, he even used my old tagline on the guy: that "the alternative was unthinkable".

Hey, it's academic now, but it wasn't tens of millions, but they were enough to bring Romney's totals below McCain's, which margin lost the election. Purists, Mormon haters, third party sell outs, those who wouldn't show up to get rid of a clearly more destructive, Marxist regime that wants to destroy America.

Sorry, it's the truth. You know Romney was the last candidate I wanted, I didn't like him at all. He made his mistakes, but nothing forgives those who purposefully did not show up to throw out the Marxist.

Good point.

Lake, I know you're angry, well so am I, but you've got to come to grips with the fact that a whole lot of people didn't show up because they felt there wasn't enough difference between the Ds and Rs to bother with it.

Guilty as charged.

I'll forgive you for not following every word I posted over the last month or so, but if you had seen my posts, you'd know that I slowly warmed up to Romney - especially after the first debate.

In the last few weeks before the election, I finally got my head around the fact that Romney agreed with me on most of the important things, and that he was a decent man who would likely do all he could to correct the disastrous course we're on.

Since about the second debate, there was a Romney/Ryan sign in my front yard, and my wife and I both marked our ballots for him on the final day.

No, he wasn't even close to who I wanted for our nominee, but in the end, I felt the best choice (all things considered), was for me to vote against Obama.

As of today, we're all on the same side.

You know, you have a point. My cat is kinda annoying. I better abandon my whole family.

Futhermore, there's a guy on our street who's a bit of a jerk. I better burn my house down.

Not to mention, one of my coworkers chews too loudly in their cube. I better quit my job.

What a strange line of reasoning.

The simple fact is, if you guys were right, we’d be saying President Romney. But you were not right, you were wrong. And you’re also wrong to berate those who are obviously more conservative than you in a conservative forum that IS NOT a GOP forum.

Let’s go back to before the election, knowing what you know now. That Romney would lose. What would be the most valuable conservative real estate moving forward? It would be the conservative forum where the founder never bowed to the pressure to become yet another GOP.com because the problem is with the GOP. Those very conservatives that you rail against would have been the core of the upcoming reinvented GOP. But instead, now you just got mush. You’re part of that mush. You need to turn your gaze to where the real problem is, to the GOP-E rather than telling conservatives (who were right, after all) that their minds are warped.

Don’t forget the third party ‘purists’. In Florida and Virginia, at least, they would have closed the gap to being almost non-existent, only needing a smaller chunk of the sit at home crowd.
