Are they kidding? National Journal's list of the TOP TEN Democrat WH contenders for 2016
National Journal ^

Posted on 11/06/2012 11:52:38 AM PST by ken5050

I guess this is one of those "filler" pieces they post until we start to get some election results, (or unless Israel launches an attack on Iran in the next 4 hours). Don't waste your time reading the article..it's pure crapola, but the list of names, which I've added below, is hysterical. Boy oh boy, do the Dems ever have problems.

TOP Ten Democrat contenders for the 2016 nomination:

1. Hillary Cinton
2. Joe Biden
3. Martin O'Malley
4. Andrew Cuomo
5. Mark Warner
6. Brian Schweitzer
7. DeVal Patrick
8. Kirsten Gillibrand
9. Anthony Villaraigosa
10. Cory Booker

Talk about a weak bench!!

A quick glance shows they have nobody..

Benghazi will finish Clinton. Biden's a buffoon,,and he'll be senile in 4 more years. Sandy has already buried Cuomo. Brian who?? DeVal Patrick..aka Mikey Dukakis lite...yup..that'll work. Villaraigoss couldn't even run the Democrat convention..and they think he can run the country? Besides, LA is going broke in a year or so.

But the funniest one of them all is Kirsten Gillibrand...Chuckie Schumer's personal sock-puppet...

Why not Nancy Pelosi, or Debbie Wasserman-Schultz..heck, why not Katy Perry??

O’Malley is a classic tax and spend Liberal. He has a dismal record here in Maryland. He is not someone to be feared.

When he left the white house to pursue Chicago I thought for sure the plan was to eventually replace Biden two years later as the VP Nominee.

If #1 wants it, she gets it. But I’m not so sure she wants it, and if not my money is on #9 BIG TIME.

You think 2008 was a rotten year? Just wait until the cockroach landslide of 2016 when the ‘47%’ (soon to be the ‘over 50% forever’) elect their very own Hugo Chavez.

Of that whole list only Cuomo sounds like a serious contender to me.

By 2016 all the King’s Horses and all the King’s Men and all of Nancy Pelosi’s plastic surgeons won’t be able to patch Hillary’s cragging, sagging body back together for television again.

Joe Biden? He’ll be under full-time professional care in a nice, safe place where he can’t hurt himself.

Martin O’Malley is the virtual Poster Child for a tax-and-spend-and-tax-and-spend-and-tax-and-spend Liberal. That’ll be like shooting fish in a GOP campaign barrel.

Kirstin Gillibrand, look in Webster’s Dictionary under “lightweight”.

Cory Booker is gonna have to do something a whole lot more impressive than Mayor of Newark between now and then.

If you wanna know who it’s gonna be, start scouring old elite college yearbooks from the 70’s for Campus Maxists and SDS members.

No. The list assumes that the democrats are looking for a candidate with actual experience or accomplishments. Barack Obama has shown that those sort of things are not necessary.

Democrats NEED labelled candidates. Their formula for winning in 2008 was to run a first-of-a-kind label.

2008 was the Year of the first black POTUS

They like to use old formulas again and again. So it’ll be time to drag out a new label, a new first-of-a-kind. So which group of people to democrats consider to be second in line for “most oppressed”? ...

2016 will be the Year of the Democrat open homosexual. I predict that they will select Rachel Madcow

One name that is missing that should be high on any dim list: Kathleen Sebelius, the most powerful female in DC.

Remember, she's in charge of "giving" all of those healthcare waivers, so if you want to think about who has lots of powers, she'd the ONE to determine where or if you get to spend your waning years as well as when to shut you down.

Romney will be in for 8 years.

Despite that hilarious bench - and one has to assume that unless Biden's 2-gaffes-a-day tour is (as some friends have wondered) ... an early brain disease thing, he'll be carrying the flag ... this is an 8 year deal, and only a scandal or very intrusive world event that can be spun as Republican's fault can stop it from being 12.

Difficult to imagine scandal w/Mitt - he's a total geek - which is his secret weapon.

World events? If America is properly dealing with the world, crazy events don't happen - Benghazi's don't happen.

This is a 12 year proposition, to use an Obama word. we'll pull out of the recession(s) for various reasons and thrive, but that doesn't mean it will be good for the US long term. Only 12 years of sustained long term pressure against the left, and conservative economic and foreign policy ... long enough for it to work ... is good for the US long term.

Romney picked Ryan for a few reasons. But one is that Ryan and Ryan's kind are whom Romney wants to see the country become more like, not only in terms of leadership, but in terms of the electorate. Romney is in the "Final leadership, mentor stage" in his life.

The Ryan pick was wise short term strategically, but all about leaving good seeds long term.

Obama has been a blessing (expensive blessing.) The Tea Party could not have accomplished what it has and will without Obama highlighting the alternative.

Which is a good segue - we couldn't ask for a better Dem bench, or a better president to bench.

So let it be said.
