What it really does is to allow all the Feds to track vets online, to track them at home, at work and to pick them up for psych evals at any given time, especially if they seem to be gaining traction in sending messages of dissent against the Obama regime.

The VA already has lots of mental support available right now. When calling to the local VA clinic, their options menu asks “if you are having thoughts of harming yourself right now, dial _ “.They realize that suicide is a HUGE issue.

As a Vet, whatever the motivation, improvement in VA abilities to provide much needed services is not a bad thing.
To clarify. If a vet goes to a VA facility, he’ll be asked at his initial intake if he has weapons at home and he’ll be asked if he has now, or ever had, suicidal thoughts. Those who answer “yes” will be flagged for further evaluation. I don’t know what the thresh-hold is requiring VA personnel to signal authorities to go and remove the vet’s personal weapons from his possession.
He’s rounding up vets right now under phony anonymous fear statements, now he’s just allocating money to expand that ability.

POTUS Obama is not going to ‘give’ anything to or for the military. This is just legal traction to be to arrest and institutionalize a disident without trial and with limited legal recourse.
Obama would be only too happy to see every military veteran commit suicide. He would even be will to assist them. His fear is that they are potentially a rela threat to his obtaining total power like Chauvez, et al.
Getting rid of this entire sub-standard organization,the VA that is,which seems to be completely corrupt not to mention how invasive of Veterans privacy they’ve become would be a great step for this country.
Otherwise replace it with something else and launch an investigation in the people who are working there.They are doing an enormous disservice towards the taxpayer and the people who’ve served this country.
Otherwise you will never replace a decent living environment,which this country doesn’t seem able to provide in the post-Bush years,with a shrink.No matter who or what he works for.

There is a hook in that. When one applies for mental health services, one loses their Second Amendment rights.
