FBI stats show more guns, less crime (Don't believe the gun control nonsense)

With two significant court victories in the last four years in the Supreme Court, the Second Amendment has received renewed interest as fundmental civil liberty. Though the Obama Administration and some Democrats in Congress still want to curtail this basic right to appeal to core constituencies, new FBI statistics show that, even though gun ownership is on the rise, crime is down:

There is a concerted effort, Cass Sunstein style, to convince us that CCW holders wouldn't have prevented the Colorado theater shooting.

If someone had fired back at the perpetrator, it might have been messy. But not as messy as it was.

In all likelihood, if there were more citizens carrying guns and if the theater hadn't banned it, the perp wouldn't even have dreamed of showing up there last night.

I live in the gun heavy state of Michigan and I can’t remember any mass shootings like this.

The police were of NO HELP in this situation, and the gunman surrendered after he did what he wanted.

The ONLY thing that could have stopped this would have been armed citizens.

Put that in your pipe, Herr Bloomberg.

I live in a small town in a gun heavy state. The guns outnumber the people in our town probably 4:1. We had ONE crime last year - some kids from 3 towns over broke into the bar and stole liquor and candy bars.

That was the first crime in our town in about 3 yrs. The last murder was in 1982 when the bar owner killed his wife then shot himself. Before that, the only other murder was in 1886 when one lawyer killed the other lawyer who was having an affair with his wife.

We leave our houses and cars unlocked and people break and enter to LEAVE things - usually vegetables, eggs, or milk from the farm.

Far cry from where I lived in CA where we had to wear Kevlar to garden.

My little town is the same way. The last murder was nearly 30 years ago. There was a shooting about 4 years ago. ( new boyfriend of an estranged wife from Ypsilanti was shot by an angry husband)

I thought your were joking, but I apologize, they actually do sell kevlar for gardening - Husqvarna 531309567 Pro Forest Chain Saw Wrap Chaps.

No I wasn’t joking or talking about the chaps. We were caretakers of my husband’s grandmother’s house and the neighborhood had gone downhill so far and fast it was a barrio and we were the only whites there, but my mother in law didn’t want to sell the house and it couldn’t be empty so we lived there for a few years after grad school/law school.

Domino’s wouldn’t deliver, utility companies put you first on the daily list so the guys would be gone before school let out, drive by shootings were so common the police wouldn’t respond unless you saw a body, my husband was shot at driving home one night from choir practice at church, and we actually had Kevlar vests to wear when we worked outside.

It wasn’t Compton, it was Palm Springs.

If George Zimmerman had been there, this wouldn’t have happened.

Now that’s what I call connecting the dots! I agree completely.
