Calls on Gillibrand to support rights for all New Yorkers
New York, New York U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long stands with Cardinal Dolan, Harvard Law Professor Mary Ann Glendon, the University of Notre Dame, and all people of conscience to oppose the Obama administrations attack on religious liberty, calling on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to support the rights of all New Yorkers, not just some.
While Sen. Gillibrand is relentless in her efforts to extend benefits to certain select groups, she has turned her back on the fundamental freedom of faith and conscience that is protected by the United States Constitution. In the process, Gillibrand is turning her back on New Yorkers who dont share her and President Obamas cynical political agenda. snip
Wendy Long said, The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is what protects all Americans, from all walks of life, to be able to practice their faith, and to keep the government from meddling in their lives and consciences. The willingness of Senator Gillibrand and President Obama to trample that principle for the sake of their own political agenda is dangerous and wrong.
She added, I stand with Cardinal Dolan and all people of faith in opposing the Gillibrand- Obama effort to reduce our freedom of religion to just another activity that can be regulated by the federal government.

Because of a slow download with dial-up, I don’t have the time to download it all, but I love the message which shows Catholics what THE most important issue is.
Sadly for Obama & Gillibrand to lose in 2012 would require a New York Democrat Election Disaster of 2012.
D’Amato, and even the true conservative Buckley, won U.S. Senate seats in NYS, & Bob Turner, one of the GOP candidates, who will run in the primaries (as you know), won the House seat in a district in NY where no Republican won since 1923.
Yes, Republicans winning is against the odds, but Obama is such horrible president, imo, many Dems will stay home on Election Day which gives us a decent shot.
Last time I read the polls even Romney went up 10 points, but I haven’t checked the polls lately.
Just found this Tweet from Bob Turner:
“At Erie Co. GOP; Stands w/ Dolan, Buffalo Diocese in Support of Religious Freedom @CardinalDolan @NickLangworthy #NYSen http://pic.twitter.com/4vrmWfqw"
All of the GOP U.S. senatorial candidates in NYS are good!
