Global warming alarmism cooling off. Soon it will be “global what?”
Orange Punch the political commentary blog of the Orange County Register ^ | 4-23-2012 | Mark Landsbaum

It’s time for our periodic check up on the sinking global warming alarmism movement.

Let’s begin by noting the fading popularity of this eco-obsessive notion. “Earth Day stands up to the rain,” the Washington Post blared, putting as good a face on as lousy a turn-out as we can remember. The rain “didn’t stop the die-hards,” the report says. The Post didn’t give a crowd count.

But Examiner.com, did . . .

Soon it will be “global what?”

Many are already using the 'new' term, and it covers both warming and cooling: Global Climate Change.

You are behind the curve. For the last year or so it has been global climate disruption.

Sorry, modern virus protection isn't up to dealing with either of those parasites.

How about you just summarize the rest for me.

Yeah, I know.. you don't get any hits that way.

But since you are such a LOYAL FREEPER and everything...

Oh, wait, sorry.. you're a blogpimp. My bad.

Problem is, they are really referring to (and banking on) global WEATHER change to fuel their power grab.

“Climate” involves a much, much longer period of weather patterns than these ADD-afflicted a-holes can wait for.

Hey, eco-nazis, I got your “Gaia” right here.

Ah-hahahahahahaha

Global cooling doesn’t play well with the enviro wackos, the peak oil, and we are killing the Third World schemes. People who are freezing to death want to turn up the heat, not feel good about being politically correct. Leftist causes aren’t as cozy as a warm fireplace.

It's not going to end because global warming isn't the issue, the issue is transferring of wealth and the taking of personal freedom.

They will keep on coming up with different scenario's until they get one that sticks.

They could care less about the planet, it's the stupid drones that follow them (the useful idiots) that care.

Gunny, we could just call AGW “global what” and be done with it.

I am thinking of promoting my own Theory of Global Pancaking. My computer model projections show that the weight of the ever-growing human population combined with industrial activity is pressing down on the Earth, causing it to lose its spherical globularity and condense in a pancake-like manner. Eventually, if this process is not reversed by drastic action, the Earth will become a flattened disk, like an old fashioned long-playing record, and ships will sail right off the edge.

Don’t flatten yourselves, people! Contribute now to my campaign to fight Global Pancaking! Together we can make a difference!

"Our"?

Who exactly is "our"?

It ain't you and me, or you and us, since you deign not to share the full text.

I'll assume "our" is you and your gay California buddies.

How are things in the new bath house? Is the towel boy to "our" liking?

Author is in the employ of the OC Register. Probably has to be excerpted. He is on our side.

Yes, his garbage has to be excerpted. He hides behind that.

Check the history. He posts nothing but his own stuff and never
participates in the discussion. He uses Free Republic as an advertising
tool for personal enrichment and self promotion. A blogpimp.

He may pretend to be on whatever side he can convince you of.
He’s a pimp. He wants a click from you. He’ll “write” whatever
it takes to get one. He does NOT participate in Free Republic
other than to post his excerpted crap here in order to draw away traffic.

Yay him, eh?

You are behind the curve. For the last year or so it has been global climate disruption.

Sorry but that curve is very fast moving these days. Climate Change is a goner, replaced by SUSTAINED DEVELOPMENT. Same agenda, same everything. Only the name has been changed to protect the guilty.

Sounds like a scumsucking blogpimp to me.

I find that folks who post nothing but their own “writing” are here only to promote themselves and nothing more.

Many folks pimp their blogs, for better or worse, but isn't Landsbaum a staff reporter for the OC Register? Is posting an article that has already appeared in print in a major daily the same as pimping one's own blog site?

If I were still working as a journalist I would look for like-minded outlets on which to post my ramblings.

Upon further review, the stuff he writes appears to be specifically for the Register blog site.

Myself, I'd be a little more patient with him than I'd be with your average blogger who doesn't answer to any editor.

You go ahead and be patient with him.
He admits he only posts his stuff here to benefit from the traffic.
