Today I said goodbye to my 83 year old father Richard G. Pulido. I brought him home 1 week ago as he decided to stop doing dialysis because there were so many other things going wrong with him. It was my first hospice expeience and for the most part it went ok.
My father, a man of Mexican decennt was the most " unlikely Conservaive" Teaching me and my sibling the golden rule first and foremost PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!
My father handed down to me a great work ethic. He made himself successful with out a college degree. He had smarts and the desire to succeed.
My mother and fathers first launguage was SPANISH, but he never let us ( His children) learn spanish. He only wanted to speak English!
During my time as a woman of hispanic origin speaking out on illegal immigration, he aplauded me sood by my side and affirmed what I was saying was absolutely true.
I love my dad and I have been his caregiver since March 2009, It was when I was running for Congress and won the Republican nominaion, my father had a stroke. My God has taught me family first and do unto others as you want done unto you. SO I moved in with my dad and keep an eye on him. He has been gettting progressively more unable to care for himself.
I am blessed by God to have a strong sense of duty. I have taken care of my dad from then until now and I count it a privledge to be able to serve him unto his last breath here on earth and into Jesus arms!
Thank you Lord for the life of my father Richard G Pulido.
I 'll see you soon dad! I am sure the Lord said to my dad this morning as he took his last breath: Welcome Home Richard!
That is a lovely tribute to your father.
My prayers for you and your family. May the Lord be your strength, may He hold you close and comfort you in your grief, and may He remind you daily that there will be a reunion! Amen.
Awwwww.
Prayers and thoughts with you.
My late wife was born in NY to Italian parents and they wouldn't teach her Italian. Her father got off the boat at Ellis Island shortly before WW_I and was soon in France as a US Soldier. He lived the rest of his life as a proud American and US Army Veteran.
In short, your dad was a father to be proud of.
May he rest in peace.
If that doesn’t put a lump in your throat, you aren’t human.
What a beautiful tribute to your dad. My prayers are with you and your family.
My most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
He was also lucky to have such a daughter.
Sounds like he died well Rosanna!
Praise be to our Lord and Savior!
He sounds like a wonderful person. The type that makes up the good side of the world. I’m sure the gates opened as wide as they could for him. Bless his soul.
God bless you and your dad, chicagolady.
Our prayers are with you and your family.
May God our Father bless him in Jesus name.
And may He bless you and yours.

It sounds like your father was a wonderful man, I feel sad for your great loss. Being an American is something that is in the heart and in the soul.
May God bless you and your family.
blessings!
You had a great father.
Very sorry for your loss.
God Bless you, Lady! I know your pain...and I know this one thing about a father...God Almighty has provided us with a father to lead us...that earthly father is a spiritual connection in our lives to our Heavenly Father..In this world somehow it has been distorted, the role of fathers...Know this, God WILL restore all things.
Your father sounds like he was a great man. Please accept my consolations for your loss.
.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Through the mercy of God, may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.
.
May the peace of God,
which is beyond all understanding,
keep your heart and mind
in the knowledge and love of God
and of his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
God Bless your Father and he is fortunate to have a loving daughter and to have passed in peace in his own home. Those are all true blessings.
What a sweet loving send off to a great dad into the hands of Jesus. Prayers for peace and grace
