Today I said goodbye to my 83 year old father Richard G. Pulido. I brought him home 1 week ago as he decided to stop doing dialysis because there were so many other things going wrong with him. It was my first hospice expeience and for the most part it went ok.
My father, a man of Mexican decennt was the most " unlikely Conservaive" Teaching me and my sibling the golden rule first and foremost PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!
My father handed down to me a great work ethic. He made himself successful with out a college degree. He had smarts and the desire to succeed.
My mother and fathers first launguage was SPANISH, but he never let us ( His children) learn spanish. He only wanted to speak English!
During my time as a woman of hispanic origin speaking out on illegal immigration, he aplauded me sood by my side and affirmed what I was saying was absolutely true.
I love my dad and I have been his caregiver since March 2009, It was when I was running for Congress and won the Republican nominaion, my father had a stroke. My God has taught me family first and do unto others as you want done unto you. SO I moved in with my dad and keep an eye on him. He has been gettting progressively more unable to care for himself.
I am blessed by God to have a strong sense of duty. I have taken care of my dad from then until now and I count it a privledge to be able to serve him unto his last breath here on earth and into Jesus arms!
Thank you Lord for the life of my father Richard G Pulido.
I 'll see you soon dad! I am sure the Lord said to my dad this morning as he took his last breath: Welcome Home Richard!
Prayers for you and your family.
May God Bless his soul.

Thank you for your ardent testimony about your father and you and your family’s love for him and what he stood for. God bless him, and you and your family. I pray the Lord Jesus Christ’s comfort for him and you all. My parents are with the Lord. I pray that, on that day when I will need to make the same decision about continued dialysis for my wife, that I will have your courage to make it. God bless.
Prayers for your family.

I had a funeral to go to today and it was real hard on me, and I was not even immediate family.
