AMERICA'S FIRST CHRISTMAS...
In December 1776, the future of America hung on the fate of a bedraggled army barely a step ahead of annihilation. When the British fleet arrived in New York, an American soldier marveled it was as if “all Lond...on was afloat.”
After several devastating defeats, his troops exhausted, Washington decided to cross the Delaware on Christmas and surprise the British in Trenton. If the raid backfired, the war was likely over, and he would be captured and killed.
Washington’s troops crossed the river that night, in flat-bottomed boats, tossed by ice floes and raging winds. Once on land, they marched nine miles to Trenton in a driving snowstorm. Washington considered calling it off, but he'd come too far.
Arriving at Trenton, the spirited troops surprised the British, and the battle ended quickly, 1000 British killed or captured, to two American combat deaths.
Washington followed with another victory at Princeton, and several after that. In the space of a few weeks, American troops irreversibly changed the dynamic of the war.
In other words, a moment in history when a few ALL-IN men changed the world... this is another moment when a few ALL-IN men and women can change the world. For the next two weeks, give Newt you very very best and, like Washington and his troops did a few hundred years ago, "irreversibly change the dynamic of the war" for America's future.

All I can say is, with Newt in the race, it’ll never be dull.
Given that N.H. likes to take down the winner of the Iowa Caucus, maybe it won’t be too bad if Newt does not win, but come in second. Then he can go on and take N.H. away from Mitt.
Newt has my heart. I just hope he doesn’t end up breaking it... I know he won’t.
I’ve heard that a lot... but I still would rather he win both, you know, to just cancel the doubt factor... YAY NEWT!

Good reminder. With enlistments running out in a few days, the Army was on the verge of dissolution. General Washington took an all or nothing gamble. Truly the Father of his country.
I’m not a Newt fan, truth be told, but I am heartened that he is a man of history. If nothing else, his knowledge of our past might help to shape his decision making should he make it to the White House.
If you read the article, it is not about the Christmas Saviour, it is about Washington and his troops and their willingness to fight against overwhelming odds.
