Uh, a sale is a sale as the hardware is produced and moved.

That’s true, however a fair number of those fleet sales include taxpayer money and the #1 cheerleader has been Obama.

Has anyone actually seen a Volt on the road with a real license plate—not a dealer tag?

You mean the fleets sold to GE so they could test their electric stations.

I'd agree that spreading the wealth to the 1% is bad.

Those who want large/bigger gov't should be the ones who pay for same.

Yes and no. In this case, the fleet sales appear to be to Obama-controlled corporations desperate to prevent the public-relations debacle that admitting the bailout of GM was a crime that cost American tens of billions of dollars.

Yep, GE has committed to buying several thousand Volts in the next few years. Of course they’re planning on selling hundreds of thousands if not millions of charging units and also getting taxpayer subsidies.

So you propose that the federal gubmint and GE buying hundreds of these lemons and driving them into motor pools and then going out and buying more, is the same as real people buying them on the free market. Hm. Maybe the feds could just drive them into the sea and then replace them. Sales would double! Hooray!

Sales involving my unjustly confiscated money backing it, not once, not twice, but three times or so.
I resent that.
I also resent the outright Goebbels style propaganda that was pushed out, funding for it from out of MY pocket, pushing this piece of junk vehicle.
And every government fleet sale is used, again propaganda style, to promote this awful wannabe car.
If it was a good design, the sales figures would reflect that.
Remember, the Edsel sold 65,000 units in the first year and it was considered a dismal failure.
The Volt, 6,000 and it is hailed as a success?
The Prius sold more than that, and it’s a better hybrid.

One, black, driven by a woman talking on a cellphone.
Driven very slowly, poorly, and without much attention paid to surroundings or traffic.

Umm, a transaction which results in substantially less revenue than claimed for the seller is called what?

I work in the same office building as the regional FBI office. I can easily spot their vehicles as they are all flex-fuel GM cars and SUVs. The GSA must be under orders to only purchase “green” cars from Government Motors, no matter the extra cost for us taxpayers.

I do some contract work in the Arlington TX GM assembly plant that makes the Yukon and Suburban sized GMC, Chevrolet and Cadillac models.

As I look down the assembly line, 8/10 or more of what rolls down the line are either white or black.

It would be real interesting to know how many of these things are actually bought by individuals.

Thanks, it’s not surprising but they sure keep it as quiet as possible, they don’t want the taxpayers to know it.

The auto industry profitability is heavily volume sensitive.

So that makes fraudulent sales figures OK?
