Romney's Terrible Record

The great Thomas Sowell asked today in his piece in the IBD, "Can you name one important positive thing that Romney accomplished as governor of Massachusetts? Can anyone?". Let's look again at what he did in Massachusetts:

So let's see, implemented a socialist healthcare system, raised taxes, opposed tax cuts, proposed a draconian decrease in greenhouse emissions, was for increasing the minimum wage, signed a permanent assault weapons ban and appointed liberal judges. His record in Massachusetts is simply dreadful and really makes it hard to see how he would be that much different than Obama.

Plus like an idiot he strapped the family dog to the top of the car for a road trip. Just based on that alone I would not vote for Mittens.

Romney is simply hoping no one will research his past and he can make it through the primary - by laying low.

I notice he says as little as possible in between debates, then walks a real fine line during the debates.

But people have to do their homework to find out about this guy.

is an excellent source.

After you know what he’s actually done in MA, and you hear him talk nowadays, you’ll see how he’s just playin’ it cool and telling people what they want to hear now.

Hopefully he will fall flat in Iowa.

I recently asked my wife what she knew about Romney’s term as governor of MA. She responded with some RomneyCare dialogue but I pressed on with a “what else did he do” question.

She was annoyed by that question because she had no answer.

Ah, I said, that was my point. We have heard nothing about Romney as Governor but we know the color of Newt’s underwear.

Of course the wifey is a Fox News junkie so she stays pretty on top of things. At least she did back in the old “Fair and Balanced” days.

There is another lesson here in that normally boring subject of bias in the news. That bias has hit Fox big time. Too bad.

I'm arguing with one of those on another thread as we speak. They lurk among us, folks.

You are 100% correct on that. It really hit me when I was watching the debate. How many negative questions were there about Newt, about Freddie about his judicial supremacy thing etc, but mostly softballs to Romney until the very end when nobody was watching. Even with Paul, how come nobody is bringing up the racist newsletter written in his name? Or the donations he received from white supremacist groups? That seems a bit more important than money Newt earned for consulting. Hell, I’d even take someone bringing up Santorum’s support for Steel Tariffs.

INCONVENIENT FACTOID OF THE DAY:

Terrible, proven-bad Gov. Romney, in another of his “hit and runs”
managed to even raise taxes on New Hampshire residents
while Gov. of Massachusetts. Yes its true. ... and that is beyond RomneyCARE
== Believe it or not.

How Romney is that?
