NO BLAGO plate up for sale on eBay the day of Blagojevich sentencing! (Vanity)
Hey FReepers, Since I’ve been on this forum for over a decade I hope you’ll excuse this one little indulgence. I believe the FR community will find this news pretty cool. This is a vanity thread about a vanity license plate I’m selling on eBay this week. I am the proud owner (soon to be former owner) of the only NO BLAGO license plate in Illinois. I’m surprised someone in the lamestream media never noticed that and asked me about the item. (Ironically, if you had me rate the Illinois governors, I’d place the current guy, Quinn, as even worse than Blago!) As I noted on the eBay listing, I purchased this plate right after Blago was elected to a 2nd term, and long before he ever got arrested or impeached for trying to sell Obama’s senate seat. I got a lot of kudos and honks from people who were also sick of Blago, and if you’re wondering… no liberal ever tried to key my car (even they knew Blago sucked!) What surprised me is the Illinois Secretary of State’s office even approved the license plate request to begin with. I guess Jesse White isn’t a fan of Blago either! So now Blago’s out of office. (I thought of replacing NO BLAGO with a license plate reading “KIRKSUX” in reference to our uber-RINO Senator, but it might be mistaken as a swipe against the great Captain James T. Kirk of the Star Trek fame and I couldn’t bear to be mistaken for a Star Wars fanboy!) It’s the Christmas season, and his sentencing is this week (today in fact!), I decided a few days ago that there’s no better time to part with NO BLAGO. But before I bid farewell to NO BLAGO, I wanted to give freepers the heads up to see this very cool license plate for themselves (and I’m going to pose with a few photos of myself holding NO BLAGO before I mail out the plates) Hope all the FReeper boys and girls liked this post. Update... Rod “I will bring honor and integrity back to Illinois” Blagojevich sentenced to 14 years in prison... I’m sure there will be a FR story on it soon. I hope he gets sentenced to same prison as former Gov. George Ryan and they can be bunk mates in the same cell block. Corrupt liberal RINOs and Corrupt liberal Democrats just love “reaching across the aisle” after all. ;-)
Gotta ask, did it sell?
::shrugs:: Yeah. Made $65. Some lady in Texas bought ‘em. I did get more for the NOBLAGO plates than the auction for the “IMPEACH W” plate from North Dakota got.
And I took some photos at home holding the NOBLAGO plates before I sold ‘em so I have a keepsake.
Only $65? Bummer.
I made more than that on a worn out old penny I sold the other day.
But mine was entirely less creative!
