this story of Louis Zemperini was a tale that grabs the reader by both the heart and the guts and keeps a clenched fist on both throughout the read.

So, you liked it?...lol
I’m supposing you are making fun but it was a most amazing read.
I only put this up because I thought it a book that yon average Freeper would quite enjoy. Just a hunch.
I read the book and it was an awesome action-packed read. Louis Zamperini is still among the living, last I heard.
It is a tremendously interesting story of a life reaching the finishing line totally spent and pushed to the fullest after using every ounce of heart, mind, body, and soul that he had in him.
Great book. Great man.
Awesome book!
Read it. It was great and even moreso, Louis Zamperini is a great American.

Ditto!
What ever happened to skinny kids growing up tough as nails and smart? I’m not surprised he started riding skateboards in his 80s. What a great story ...
I was so hoping some Freepers would have read it as I know that no one would read this book and not be awed.
Glad some of you did and want more of you to do so if not.
Just an awesome book.
I wrote the review but the above sentence says it all.
Ditto the other comments; I listened to the audible audio version, which was also quite good and I can fully recommend.

Yes, I definitely consider the Great Depression America, highly superior to HipHop, porno culture, spending-ourselves-into-inevitable-doom, absurdly narcissistic 2011 America.
I am definitely going to read this book as well. From what I’ve read about it it too is a riveting and inspiring read.
You will love it.
I know next to nothing about horse racing, but it is quite clear that Seabiscuit was an utterly amazing animal. Addtionally, the story around him, both in the proximal characters, as well as America at large, is moving and compelling.
An object lesson in persistence, grit and determination, taught largely by the amazing Seabiscuit himself.
I was just teasing, it was a most amazing review. Truthfully, you should be a paid lobbyist for the author. It makes me want to read it, and is better expressed than most professional reviews.
I suspected a tease but I was okay with it. I did gush but believe me the gushing was quite real. I write lots of book reviews and I go harsh if need be.
Should you decide to read it, and I really do hope you will, you will be a much better person for it and I will be happy for what small part I may have played for your joy.
Read the other comments on this thread....these people are not lying. The real beauty of this book is that it is all true.
