A disgusting sinful display. Bunch of freakin animals.
I agree. Celebrating such barbarity invites it in kind in the future, for one thing. What goes around comes around, as ye sow so shall ye reap. We didn’t go on an orgy of killing involving desecration of corpses following WWII, we practiced restraint and remained civilized.
And we’re paying for their lunches
Apparently, our State department has not yet learned the difference between an American style revolution and a French style revolution. This is rapidly turning into a French style revolution
Those were the days of when “men were men and gals were gals”.
Enough for me to hurl mine.
They went out of their way to surrender to us and the allies at the end. They had an idea what the commies were going to do to them and knew it wouldn't end well...
Our state dept. is a bunch of commie a$$holes. I know I’m not supposed to hate, but it has become increasingly more difficult by the day not to.
AND they also wore uniforms, as did we. These animals do not. Instead they try to blend into the public, hiding behind women and children.
Personally, I think we should just remove ALL troops from those areas and glass all their a$$es.
Why put our military in such grave danger to such ungrateful animals.
To paraphrase nancy pelosi:
“We had to start the war to find out who the rebels we are supporting are”
Yeah, those same “rebels” that would chop off her head in an instant!
"We hope he can be captured or killed soon so that you don't have to fear him any longer," Clinton told students and others at a town hall-style gathering in the capital city.Hilliary also wants to send millions in new U.S. aid
Until now, the U.S. has generally avoided saying that Qaddafi should be killed.
It’s amazing. We witness something sufficiently barbaric that can turn even Gaddafi into a sympathetic figure of sorts while Obama takes victory laps in the Rose garden. What now Mr. President?
This is just the beginning. They are killing african guest workers and the toll will mount rapidly.
The same liberals who were calling for Bush’s impeachment over the execution if Saddam Hussein are cheering 0bama for the execution of Gadhafi.
Count me out.
These fanatics SPIT on any civilized behavior whether military or civil, any codes of ethics and/or honor, any Geneva-type treaties and agreements and any checks on barbaric behavior in combat.
Obama is with the enemy at the gates. Everyone should know this by now.
Russia seems to be the only country speaking out against the way this was handled.
The official story of the rebels is that Daffy was caught in the crossfire with Daffy supporters . Riiiiiiight!
I was thinking the same thing... if you told me in the 80s I’d be defending Gaddafi someday I’d have laughed at you
But more than him personally, I only care about US interests, little more- and imho we had Gaddafi tamed nicely
More problems now, and we have to pay for the transition to an Islamic republic, great
How many have been assassinated under his watch?
What makes Obama think they won't go on a jihad and send someone here to do the same thing?
This scares me. While I don't like anything Obama has done since taking office, I want him sent packing from losing the election or being impeached.
If even a small group of those barbarians decided to pay him and this country back for our interference in there world, no SS is going to be able to stop them.
Obama and Hillary have opened a can of worms and it will be hard to replace that lid.
A harsh dose of reality here folks.
Islam has never ever experienced any of the cultural moderation that Christianity experienced during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Counter-Refrormation movements. It is just as violent a religion and supporting culture as Christianity was in the 11th through 14th centuries.
As such, the death and mutilation of Gaddafi was to be expected. Husain's capture and trial were American and American backed operations. If the average Iraqi had captured him we would have never known about it.
American jurisprudence stops at the water's edge unless there American troops present. Do I like this fact? Not really. But, I have seen the cruelty that abounds in this world and recognize that my feelings will not change things outside the US.
That is horrifying. What is it?
Well, maybe you have half a point Nip. but this was a NATO op
The devil stalks the planet.
Figure that out. What is the story?
everything you want to know about Mussolini is here, it’s where the picture came from too...
OK Read it. According to wikipedia, which I regard as unsubstantiated information, the woman is one of his many mistresses.
like i said, it's been known to happen
Uh, yea, *following* WWII.
During WWII? That’s a wholly different story.
During Korea? Again, a wholly different story.
During Vietnam? Different story again.
But following? There we’ve been a model of restraint... as opposed to the actions of (eg) the Russians following the fall of Berlin...
Only Americans are (in the majority) naive enough to think that other nations will follow our example in revolutions.
The abundance of evidence in the world is that the dominate “revolution model” is that of the French.
We’re the exception, not the rule.
Yeah, I did read that. Sounds again, just like what happened with Czar Nicholas........ordered killed by the Commie party after being held captive. Still a lot different than what happened with Qaddafi......Qaddafi was just murdered by the mob that found him.
Summary executions on the battlefield would have reduced the need for a GTMO and assured that the terrorists in question could not be released to strike again.
A living, escaped KQGHadaffi could have hired a mercenary force to take back Libya. Dead, he can’t do it. Even though there were no good guys in that conflict, the winners did the right thing.
Well, he reaped what he sowed.
BTW, another prototype for how ol’ Mo just died was the “trial” and execution of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife, Elena. They were the tin-pot commie despots of Romania until ‘89.
The people rose up, the military rose with them, and the Ceausescu’s were given a trial that lasted all of about 20 minutes, I guess, with Nicolae refusing to answer any questions, much less recognize the authority of the court. After that little dog-n-pony show (which was broadcast like radio theatre), they were taken away, their hands bound behind their backs, they were taken outside, stood up against a stone walled and guns down by three men with AK-47’s, then covered with tarps.
Yeah, I recall that. And at one point I spoke with a military officer from Romania who was embarrassed about it.
then again, i couldn't care less in either case but that's just me, and if that makes me bad, so be it
They might be embarrassed now, but back then, the people were tired of starvation and living under the thumb of a couple of people who were madder than hatters.
There are still hard-line commie loyalists today who were making up conspiracy theory stories that they (the Ceausescus) were not shot, that they had fled the country somehow and were still living. Let’s put aside the fact that they’d be in their 90’s now, let’s just deal with the conspiracy theories.
The issue got so bad that the authorities in Romania exhumed the bodies, took DNA samples and tested them against the only known living son:
Thugs and tyrants should receive this sort of end. It is the only thing that gets through their thick skulls. It would be better yet if their bodies were torn apart and hung from lamposts, but hey, we can’t have everything.
When “international law” prevails and these sorts of thugs get to die in their beds at a ripe old age (as did Pol Pot, responsible for over a million executions and deaths in Cambodia), it sends a very wrong message to these types of people.
well, if you are trying to establish legitimacy as a new government, you want to have institutions that function properly, not gangs. they should have tried him.
they are rarely at the sharp end of the stick...
You’re going to need to see past the current situation and think about the wonderful future ability to shut down things like French carping about how we conduct wars in the future.
In the future, when the French start acting, well, *French* when we’re in some international op, we can point back at this administration and say “We’re not doing anything different than the President upon whom you conferred the Nobel Peace Prize when he was in office the first month. We’re merely following his example...”
and the Euro-weenies will have to STFU.
I view these sorts of developments with an eye to the long game. In the long game, they’re absolutely wonderful developments, because we will be able to so successfully shut down any bellyaching by European pecksniffs in the future when:
1. We enter a country with spec-ops troops, without declaring war, assault a private residence and shoot occupants inside in cold blood and leave without so much as a “hi” or “goodbye!”
2. Bomb other countries without declaring war or even registering a complaint in the UN. This includes zapping people we don’t like with missiles from the air.
3. We back a violent revolution (eg, like this one in Libya) that displaces someone who gets in the way of delivering oil.
4. We conservatives protest that a Republican POTUS didn’t do any of these things (because we might not need to) and yet, he wasn’t awarded the Peace Prize.
This episode of four years of “wise diplomacy” will yield guffaws and yuks for decades to come.
