I agree. Celebrating such barbarity invites it in kind in the future, for one thing. What goes around comes around, as ye sow so shall ye reap. We didn’t go on an orgy of killing involving desecration of corpses following WWII, we practiced restraint and remained civilized.

Apparently, our State department has not yet learned the difference between an American style revolution and a French style revolution. This is rapidly turning into a French style revolution

To paraphrase nancy pelosi:
“We had to start the war to find out who the rebels we are supporting are”

And your point is?

A harsh dose of reality here folks.

Islam has never ever experienced any of the cultural moderation that Christianity experienced during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Counter-Refrormation movements. It is just as violent a religion and supporting culture as Christianity was in the 11th through 14th centuries.

As such, the death and mutilation of Gaddafi was to be expected. Husain's capture and trial were American and American backed operations. If the average Iraqi had captured him we would have never known about it.

American jurisprudence stops at the water's edge unless there American troops present. Do I like this fact? Not really. But, I have seen the cruelty that abounds in this world and recognize that my feelings will not change things outside the US.
