Rick Perry today announced his leadership team for Presidency 5, tapping Florida House Speaker Dean Cannon serving as chairman.
Florida is critical to the presidential nomination process, so I look forward to bringing my pro-jobs, conservative message to Florida and the Presidency 5 events, Gov. Perry said. Floridians care about jobs, fiscal responsibility and ending Obamacare and other federal excesses. I am pleased to have the opportunity to share my record and vision for job creation and fiscal conservatism with the voters of the Sunshine State.
Gov. Perry knows that the path to the nomination and eventually the White House goes through Florida, said Speaker Cannon. He also knows how critical it is for Floridas grassroots leaders to get a chance to know the candidates early, which is why he is focused on this state and participating in Presidency 5.
In addition to Cannon, conservative activists John Stemberger and Pam Olsen will serve as co-chairs. Stemberger is president of the Florida Family Policy Council. Olsen is the founder and president of the Florida Prayer Network. Also serving as co-chairs are Pasco County Republican Bill Bunting, a leader in the effort to protect the second amendment, and Orange County Republican Activist Lew Oliver. Dr. A.K. Desai, CEO of Universal Health Care Group, Inc., will also serve as a co-chair and help recruit delegates.
Gov. Perry has also announced the following elected officials to serve as co-chairs: Senator Don Gaetz, R-Crestview, State Rep. Rachel Burgin, R-Riverview, State Rep. Clay Ingram, R-Pensacola, Broward County Commissioner Chip Lamarca, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo and Orange County Property Appraiser Bill Donegan.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
Ahhh...Florida...Is there a VP Rubio in our future? Me thinks so.
The more I listen to him, the better I like him.
Rubio would be an excellent VP choice.
That being said does anyone know something about the individuals named?
Between Perry’s swing through NYC and courting the Jews and Hispanics, his hard court press in IA and this concerted effort in FL, he is defiantly going about this in the right way. Looks like Perry is in it to win it.
Perry is assembling an army.
Yawn...wake me up when there is something unique and right-wing about our prospects.
Gaetz was just elected State Senate President yesterday - and has a good common sense economic recovery plan for Florida.
Stemberger is one of the most highly respected social conservatives in the state.
Yah, right. Sleep on. Drop out.
Get Obama for four more years.
Ask the FReeper on this thread called: LimberJim he seems to know about these men.
Perry has the top campaign team of all the others. So yes, they would be doing all the right moves.
Perry/Rubio could be an unbeatable ticket.
You put the mechanics of building a winning campaign on the level of having an auto repaired. You just have them fix it while you sleep in the waiting room.
Well, the elections are above car repair. The winning team is being built and it is time to step up to the plate and let the Perry team know that you are on board to take her in for the winning touch down. Volunteer yourself to phone bank. Volunteer to do leaflet drops and sign waving. The volunteer army is the part that money can't buy. It is our secret weapon which will neutralize the paid union hacks that the DemonRATs use for all of their campaign work. The sooner we organize, the sooner we can tip the Donkeycart in our favor.
“step up to the plate and let the Perry team know that you are on board to take her in for the winning touch down”
Wake me when you’ve decided whether we’re boating or playing baseball or football.
And when we have a quarterback/batter/captain who isn’t promising ahead of time that he plans to pass/pop-up to the other side/run the boat onto the rocks.
do not think so I’m running a ballot measure and campaigning for a TX. Supreme Court Judge.
Thanks anyway though.
Sorry I came down on you so hard. You’re the kind of people who come to play ball. I hope your ballot measure suceeds and your work helps give Texas a decent Supreme Court Judge.
Stay tuned Houston’s gonna get real hot.
So says Bill White.
