Eric Holder Probing State Voter ID Laws
PJ Tatler ^ | July 27, 2011 | Christian Adams

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz makes a revealing comment in an interview:

The assistant attorney general for civil rights, Tom Perez, has assured Americans and members of Congress that the Voting Section [at DOJ] is looking very closely at the laws that have recently passed. They’ve acknowledged the concern that both I and others have expressed about the potential for these laws to have an undue and disproportionate impact on racial minorities and the poor. I trust that Tom Perez and Attorney General Eric Holder are reviewing these laws very seriously.

This almost certainly means that the DOJ Voting Section is looking at whether or not photo identification laws violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The overwhelming majority of Americans support voter ID, including Democrats. But if there is a racially discriminatory effect, look for the DOJ to go after some state somewhere (I pick South Carolina) to activate their political base. People often dismiss the merits of such a case. But if the DOJ can show that minorities are disproportionately affected by the requirement to show ID at the polls, the case is stronger than many realize. Is it a fight Holder wants heading into 2012? Perhaps, especially when you need to rebuild a collapsing political base.

Looks like Obama is pulling out all the stops in fighting voter ID laws. He's called on Wassermann-Schultz/DNC, the Holder/DOJ and the Congressional Black Caucus to keep voter fraud alive for the RAT party.

Adult citizens are required by law to have some form of ID, what could possibly be illegal about the state requiring they be shown to vote?

I fail to see the problem. The liberal activist groups are always shuttling “minorities and the poor” to the polls. Why not shuttle them to get picture IDs? They are free in some states, very low cost in the others. If the low cost is too much for the “minorities and poor” these lib activist groups can do a bit of fund raising and pay for it on their behalf.

When EVERYBODY has to show an ID, there is no discrimination.

Socialists depend on ILLEGAL VOTERS to stay in power.

What else is new?

The Democrats think blacks are idiots and cant scrape money from more important stuff like “getting their hair did”, or pimping out their rides, to spend a few bucks on a photo ID.

And dont most minorities have IDs already? You cant piss in a pot without one.

Von Clausewitz said that war was the continuation of politics by other means...perhaps the reverse can be said also.

Correct...I don’t see how they possibly have a case against photo ID to vote or proof of citizenship for registering but the RATS know they’ll lose many illegal voters if all states pass these laws.

The thing that’s appalling is the RATS are blatantly trying to stop these laws. All the states I’m aware of that have passed these laws make the ID available for free for those who can’t afford them and if everyone is required to have them no one can honestly claim race discrimination.

Well, well.

Eric will find that black folk don’t have to use IDs.

Why? Because it’s unconstitutional?

No. Because they’re black.

Next!

Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, 553 U.S. 181 (2008) was a United States Supreme Court case holding that an Indiana law requiring voters to provide photo IDs did not violate the Constitution of the United States.

Holder and Obama seem blissfully unaware of that case. Or, they are simply IGNANT and pandering to their base of illegal aliens and criminals.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that such laws do not violate the Constitution.

Thanks for your post and info. I guess pandering to illegals and criminals is logical, it sounds just like Obama.

Yes. White folk have suffered enough. Just ask Eric. He’ll tell you so. Already been quoted to that effect.

Constitution? What Constitution?
