Need your help to convert a democrat (not a liberal)asking difference between obama and Bush

I talked with 2 nice guys yesterday - feeling that a door could be half open, I wanted to know exactly what was their position (politic). I knew they voted for Obama but they seemed to be open enough to hear about Palin and the new teaparty republicans. They asked me to email what Obama did wrong..yes..they don't know but they did not like Bush so they probably still on the "Bush fault" thingy. I would like to start with Clinton and the fact that everybody is saying he was a good president BECAUSE the Congress republicans so helped the economy - and I would like to keep on saying that the congress is democrat since 2006 under Bush. Everybody forget about that. And then Obama.

Does anyone knows the exact numbers when pelosi came to the senate in 2006 - jobs and deficit and expenses - then how much when Bush left - and then how much obama did as spending and awful things like nationalize car industry, welfare etc...sadly I don't feel I am good enough to write a good convincing and looking like non partisan diatribe to make sure I will win their vote for our side.

Please can you help? Thank you :-)

If a person cannot figure this out on their own - it is a lost cause ... I wouldn’t waste my time... It is difficult to work around - under exposure, failure to comprehend what can be easily observed and understood... good grief... It is like the polls citing the large numbers of undecideds 10 days before a Presidential Election... quite frankly I think such claims are rubbish... It is easier for some just to act stupid.

You can ask them to visit my FR Home page, where I’ve compiled a ton of info on the treasonous democrat party. Much of it is straight from the horse’s mouth, as opposed to some right-wing-biased website:

Defense cuts allowed clinton and congress to balance the budget

And a pumped up, phony, corrupt stock market, along with the internet bubble. Everyone was 'rich' for a time, before the bubble burst and the economy collapsed. Clinton slashed our defenses mainly to allow the ChiComs the opportunity to catch up to us. Part of his ChinaGate dealings. It wasn't just about campaign cash.

"'We like your president. We want to see him reelected', former Chinese intelligence chief General Ji Shengde told Chinagate bagman Johnny Chung. Indeed, Chinese intelligence organized a massive covert operation aimed at tilting the 1996 election Clinton’s way."

The Idiot's Guide to Chinagate
By Richard Poe
May 26, 2003

CHINA WILL LIKELY replace the USA as world leader, said Bill Clinton in a recent Washington Post interview. It is just a matter of time. Clinton should know. He has personally done more to build China’s military strength than any man on earth.

Most Americans have heard of the so-called "Chinagate " scandal. Few understand its deadly import, however. Web sites such as "Chinagate for Dummies" and its companion "More Chinagate for Dummies" offer some assistance. Unfortunately, with a combined total of nearly 8,000 words, these two sites – like so many others of the genre – offer more detail than most of us "dummies" can absorb.

For that reason, in the 600 words left in this column, I will try to craft my own "Idiot’s Guide to Chinagate," dedicated to all those busy folks like you and me whose attention span tends to peter out after about 750 words. Here goes.

When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, China presented little threat to the United States. Chinese missiles "couldn’t hit the side of a barn," notes Timothy W. Maier of Insight magazine. Few could reach North America and those that made it would likely miss their targets.

Thanks to Bill Clinton, China can now hit any city in the USA, using state-of-the-art, solid-fueled missiles with dead-accurate, computerized guidance systems and multiple warheads.

China probably has suitcase nukes as well. These enable China to strike by proxy – equipping nuclear-armed terrorists to do their dirty work, while the Chinese play innocent. Some intelligence sources claim that China maintains secret stockpiles of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons on U.S. soil, for just such contingencies.

In 1997, Clinton allowed China to take over the Panama Canal. The Chinese company Hutchison Whampoa leased the ports of Cristobal and Balboa, on the east and west openings of the canal respectively, thus controlling access both ways. A public outcry stopped Clinton in 1998 from leasing California’s Long Beach Naval Yard to the Chinese firm COSCO. Even so, China can now strike U.S. targets easily from their bases in Panama, Vancouver and the Bahamas.

How did China catch up so fast? Easy. We sold them all the technology they needed – or handed it over for free. Neither neglect nor carelessness are to blame. Bill Clinton did it on purpose.

As a globalist, Clinton promotes "multipolarity" – the doctrine that no country (such as the USA) should be allowed to gain decisive advantage over others.

To this end, Clinton appointed anti-nuclear activist Hazel O’Leary to head the Department of Energy. O’Leary set to work "leveling the playing field," as she put it, by giving away our nuclear secrets. She declassified 11 million pages of data on U.S. nuclear weapons and loosened up security at weapons labs.

Federal investigators [Cox Report] later concluded that China made off with the "crown jewels" of our nuclear weapons research under Clinton’s open-door policy – probably including design specifications for suitcase nukes. Meanwhile, Clinton and his corporate cronies raked in millions.

In his book The China Threat, Washington Times correspondent Bill Gertz describes how the system worked. Defense contractors eager to sell technology to China poured millions of dollars into Clinton’s campaign. In return, Clinton called off the dogs.

Janet Reno and other counterintelligence officials stood down while Lockheed Martin, Hughes Electronics, Loral Space & Communications and other U.S. companies helped China modernize its nuclear strike force.

"We like your president. We want to see him reelected," former Chinese intelligence chief General Ji Shengde told Chinagate bagman Johnny Chung. Indeed, Chinese intelligence organized a massive covert operation aimed at tilting the 1996 election Clinton’s way.

Clinton’s top campaign contributors for 1992 were Chinese agents; his top donors in 1996 were U.S. defense contractors selling missile technology to China.

Clinton recieved funding directly from known or suspected Chinese intelligence agents, among them James and Mochtar Riady who own the Indonesian Lippo Group; John Huang; Charlie Trie; Ted Sioeng; Maria Hsia; Wang Jun and others.

Commerce Secretary Ron Brown served as Clinton’s front man in many Chinagate deals. When investigators began probing Brown’s Lippo Group and Chinagate connections, Brown died suddenly in a suspicious April 1996 plane crash.

Needless to say, China does not share Clinton’s enthusiasm for globalism or multipolarity. The Chinese look out for Number One.

"War [with the United States] is inevitable; we cannot avoid it," said Chinese Defense Minister General Chi Haotian in 2000. "The issue is that the Chinese armed forces must control the initiative in this war." Bill Clinton has given them a good start.

It won't last forever. This is just a period, a few decades this will last.'

Clinton continued...

'In all probability, we won't be the premier political and economic power we are now' in a few decades, he said, pointing to the growth of China's economy and the growing economic strength of the European Union.

Whether the United States maintains its military supremacy, he said, depends in part on how much those other entities invest in their militaries, and Clinton said working cooperatively is essential to U.S. interests.

But he said he did not want to be misunderstood. 'I never advocated that we not have the strongest military in the world...I don't think a single soul has thought I was advocating scaling back our military.'

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

My comment was mostly a joke.
Bush was a lot better in his first term especially with tax cuts and the WOT,
but quickly lost his way with McCain-Fiengold, then fell off the cliff with Medicare part D and TARP.

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World — where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' — both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

excerpt...

In 1969, Ayers and his wife [Bernardine Dohrn] convened a "War Council" in Flint Michigan, whose purpose was to launch a military front inside the United States with the purpose of helping Third World revolutionaries conquer and destroy it.

Taking charge of the podium, dressed in a high-heeled boots and a leather mini-skirt – her signature uniform – Dorhn incited the assembled radicals to join the war against "Amerikkka" and create chaos and destruction in the "belly of the beast."

Her voice rising to a fevered pitch, Dohrn raised three fingers in a "fork salute" to mass murderer Charles Manson whom she proposed as a symbol to her troops. Referring to the helpless victims of the Manson Family as the "Tate Eight" (the most famous was actress Sharon Tate) Dohrn shouted:

Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!..."

Thanks for posting this. You’ve got some good questions.

Just yesterday I received this quote in an email from a liberal friend who I suspect is regretting his vote for Obama:

“…most of the current debt can be traced to the profligate military spending and tax cuts of the last Bush administration. Just as the nation’s debt had tripled or quadrupled between 1981 and 1993, in the dozen years of Republican rule before Clinton’s first inauguration…so the second Bush administration plunged the budget from surplus to deep deficit before Obama spent one penny on economic stimulus or anything else.” Bill Clinton

I don’t know the date of Clinton’s quote and I haven’t responded yet because I haven’t looked up any hard numbers and want to have some good answers. I’ll be combing through this thread for some help regarding the increase in spending and expansion of military initiatives overseas. Thanks in advance.

Bush went into Iraq using Bill Clinton’s faulty intelligence reports. Then blamed Bush of course.

Bush freed millions of people around the world.

Obama opresses them.

Bush ‘may’ have spent a lot, but it wasn’t Trillions upon Trillions to be paid back by our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as Obama has done, and is going to continue doing. Trillions on wild spending spree’s, redistriubted through out the world.

Bush stood up for Christianity and freedom. Obama stands up for Islam and covers up symbols of Christianity in his presence (other than photo ops at church).

enough said.

Some people you can’t convince. I have gotten into fights with my two liberaltarian brothers over Bush’s accomplishments. I usually cite low unemployment, tax cuts, and I say that spending while higher than I would have liked was not as high as the Obama levels. You should google an article called ‘Iraq the war that broke us, not!’ it gives some really good data on spending and the deficit. But like I said earlier some people you can’t argue with my brothers currently think Obama is the worst president of the last 100 years and Bush is number 2 because he passed the Patriot Act, got us involved in illegal wars, and is solely responsible for the finacial collapse, their bs leftist arguments not mine. When I point out the high inflation, unemployment, and the oil embargo of the Carter years they don’t want to listen to it because Carter was the only president who stood by his ‘principles.’ Living with political idiots isn’t always easy.

Last GOP Congress & President budget 2006. Annual Fed Deficit $164 billion

Last Dem Congress/Dem President budget 2010. Annual Fed Budget Deficit $1.7 Trillion (About $160 billion a MONTH)

Even your Democrat friend should be able to see the difference in those 2 numbers
