He's 64 years old and he declares himself a GOP presidential contender, never having before publicly identified with the party.
Really? He's been a registered Republican most of his life.

Trump is making a difference. He cracked through the progressive media censorship. The election is a ways off and Obama & friends will continue to advance agenda. Supporting Trump right now helps us all.

The contributions to RATS dont concern me all that much. He’s a businessman in NYC. He gives to both sides, and particularly to those in a position to help his business (like Schumer).
Having had corporate clients who did the same thing, I’m used to businesses putting expediency before principle. It’s just how the game is played.

Thanks justiceseeker93, well put. Trump is the anti-Palin, and that aspect of his candidacy will emerge, soon.

He said in the Hannity interview last night that he would run as an independent ONLY IF all the polling and other reliable scientific tests showed he could win. He said he would not enter the race and split the anti-Obama vote.
He acknowledged that if he ran, he would take a substantial number of votes from the GOP candidate. I suppose he’s saying that if the GOP nominee is tanking vs. Obama, he’d step in if it showed he could win, but would not do so only because he didn’t get the GOP nomination.

“Im used to businesses putting expediency before principle. Its just how the game is played.”
And unprincipled “expediency” is exactly how this country got in the mess it’s in currently. No thanks.

Trump might keep RINO candidates from runnnig. He also can take political hits with impunity, clearing the path for the real candidate..

“Deniers” I don’t know about but “tea bagger” can be dumped right in the lap of CNN’s Anderson Cooper who strikes me as somebody who would have deep personal knowledge of such behavior.

I don't think Trump will run but he sure will make waves in the sea of Republican candidates.
Does anyone really think he'll give up earnings from his real estate ventures, golf courses and tv shows for a paltry presidential salary?

Unfortunately, the GOP isn't putting up enough of a resistance to that and other things.
Not one of the previous contenders have a hope in hell of getting my vote... I left the Republican party when the leftist scum McCain was nominated...

McCain was a turning point for me as well....but I held my nose and voted for him anyway.
One thing that Trump has going for him is that the dems don't know how to react....yet. As a businessman, he's contributed big bucks to them as insurance for his business venture$. Now they've lost it. The current administration's mishandling of the economy, the high unemployment and attacks on big business must have hurt Trump where it matters....his wallet. (Think Atlantic City gambling and conventions). He is losing now and wants it to stop.
The GOP and the RNC suffer from their choice of McCain and must know we all suffer from the election of a less than full term, back bench senator from Chicago. They played their hand by the rules and the republicans in congress tried to play by parliamentary rules once the 2008 elections were over and got their teeth knocked out by Chicago thugs, Reid and Pelosi; hence the Tea Party's emergence.
They're still addled but Trump is a welcomed diversion.

He looks like a fall guy, if ever there was one. But there’s no reason not to use his non-candidacy. Just have someone prominent endorse him, and then say some really loaded things that need to be said, so that only his candidacy implodes, while everyone remembers the statements of his endorser.
Ed Koch did that in ‘88, endorsing...was it Joe Biden? Then he launched a tirade against Jesse Jackson that blew him out of the water. Biden’s campaign collapsed after that, but so did the political aspirations of the “reverand”.
