This is an edited version of the Beck O'Reilly discussion cut so as to only show that part relating to Trumps promotion of the birth certificate issue. Very disappointing to see this arrogance from beck.

Rush usually gets it right 99% of the time. He now has an Obama BC song...Born in the USA.

Agreed! Beck was saying the exact things about Trump that people say about him (clownish, extreme on issues, etc.). And he’s ANOTHER one that totally dismisses the BC issue.

But his words on O’Reilly yesterday were outrageous! It was like if HE isn’t the one bringing an issue to light, it’s not worth talking about. I think I’m “over” him, too!

Beck says at the end something like "I wish we could get candidates that are not provocative......"

If we applied the same standard to Beck he would not have much to say. Beck has not diminished much in my eyes because of this because I never held Beck in much esteem in the first place. In fact, he had become less and less to me as he gets more and more self-absorbed with himself.

We are still a long way out and Trump is doing a good thing by bringing up the birth certificate issue at this time.

I have started to wonder since all of the Republicans seem to be working just as hard to mock birthers... if they don’t want their own complacency in the sham to be highlighted.

Beck is a Libertarian and their god is Ron Paul. Isn’t that what most Libertarians do? Sneer at everyone but Paul?

I heard the exchange. I wouldn’t say that Beck scoffed or sneered; but he did question Trump’s braggadocio and the wisdom of saying some of the things that Trump has said. Which any sane person would do - remember this IS Donald Trump. He deserves a great deal of skepticism as a candidate, given a pretty spotty past.

BTW - I love some of the things that the Donald is saying right now, and I loved the birther issue brought up by Trump, but that doesn’t mean that Trump is an ethical, Constitution-following conservative presidential caliber candidate.

It’s all about ratings and money with these idiots. I’m over Beck as well. Never watch his TV show anymore. I guarantee that these guys have a meeting together somewhere in the Fox offices and they say to each other something like “im not touching this birther issue because it will be the end of my career” that’s all these jerks care about is their shows and paychecks. Beck and O’reilly are frauds. And if birthers win the day, those idiots will have such egg on their face

I do not understand people like this. It’s not enough for them to say (like Mark Steyn does) “I’m not a birther but they do have something to say, let’s talk about issues.” No, they have to sound exactly like the freaking Huffington Post.

I am beginning to agree. Beck is losing himself in egoland and becoming increasingly ineffective.

It is beyond absurd that he does not apply his famously intense research team to bust wide open the Obama fraud.

In fact, I would say it’s conspicuously strange that he does not...he who tells us do not be afraid to ask questions.

Yet here he is on the front row, ridiculing honest inquiry by Trump.

He is really hurting the Beack brand with this nonsense.

Wake up Glenn.

At least treat Trump with due respect for asking the questions that staying on millions of minds.

Any republican who is not now suspicious of this presidents birth issue are culpable.

After this little ditty by Trump, there are so many questions that you’d have to be Deaf, Dumb and Blind if you dint see a problem.

Beck is a phony. He proclaims to be all for defending the Constitution but mocks and ridicules those who seek to defend the Constitution against the biggest Constitutional crisis of our time.

Beck says:

“If you don't believe he has a birth certificate, you can say ‘I don't believe he has a birth certificate.’”

Beck affirms that it is perfectly OK with him for Trump to say that Obama doesn't have a birth certificate if that is what Trump believes.

Beck's objection and mockery of Trump was regarding Trump's sloppy research in suggesting that Obama’s BC might say he was born a Muslim. As all FReepers know who have been following this issue, there is no religion field on the Long Form, which even the London Daily Mail was able to point out IIRC.

Trump undermined his credibility and seriousness on the issue by failing to do his homework or alternatively, it Trump knows there is no religion field on the BC, he was just being provocative to get attention, which is what both Beck and O’Reilly were pointing out as being counterproductive and undermining of the GOP. Do your homework, Trump!

What is most significant to me is that neither Beck nor O’Reilly slammed Trump for stating a belief that Obama did not have a BC, and neither one said “Obama already released it” or “The newspaper announcement prove he was born in HI”.

Again, Beck said “If you don't believe he has a birth certificate, you can say ‘I don't believe he has a birth certificate.’” O’Reilly said it was would be good for Trump to get in the race to shake things up.

Since O’Reilly wasn't referring to the “Muslim” suggestion by Trump, O’Reilly can only be expressing his actual approval of Trump raising questions about Obama’s failure to produce a 1961 BC, IMO.

My God, is there no one....I mean is there no one, out there who can bypass this BS on the birth certificate and raise the issue of Natural Born Citizenship?

Trumps kids were born to Ivana and Donald Trump. Ivana was at the time NOT a US citizen, thusly their children would not be eligible to run for the presidency.

I doubt that there is a Hawaii birth certificate. There can’t be, because he wasn’t born in Hawaii. His grandma simply announced the birth that took place in Kenya, CAnada or who knows where.

Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Hannity, BOR, Beck... not one single person brings up the question mark about the guy’s school records...his writings his college...his social security questions etc....

One thing for sure, the BC issue will now NOT go away. It will be like the Swift Boat issue. Obama will not be able to ultimately sweep this away....

I don’t see Trump dropping it either, in fact, I see him becoming a student of all this....

I tire of Beck. I can’t listen to his radio show as I can’t listen to Hannity’s either. They bore me....

On the other hand, I am still riveted listening to Rush.

We are living in an upside down world when Mr King Conspiracy Theory (he who can only get advertisers hawking gold, food insurance, bomb shelters) finds the BC issue to be a non issue.

Very disappointing to see this arrogance from beck.

it was ok, but just that, a bit condescending perhaps. But I have noticed a trend with Beck and it is a blind side and almost rude. He seems to have a disdain for all of those in popular culture, when Liz Taylor died him and his crew on the radio were almost as bad as the Sternzee FM shock jocks, not a good word to say, that I find odd, given we find out she was a staunch supporter of Israel after her death.
