Fox’s Brit Hume: Sarah Palin Is “Kind Of Radioactive”
Mediaite ^ | 1/16/11 | Matt Schneider

Posted on 01/16/2011 2:50:12 PM PST by markomalley

As more pundits react to Sarah Palin’s video response on the Arizona shooting, Fox’s Brit Hume professed he’s never in his life seen someone receive such vicious media coverage as Palin and attempted to broadly define the “Sarah Palin Problem” on Fox News Sunday.

Before Hume summed Palin up, Fox commentator Juan Williams shared his bewilderment over Palin’s tone and word choice in the video, and thought the whole thing was “unnecessary.” This “just gave her opponents such an opportunity then to excoriate her . . . and did not raise her stature,” Williams concluded. Brit Hume offered up his own perspective:

“The Sarah Palin problem really is a problem that she has largely, I think through no fault of her own, become kind of radioactive. And it does mean that when she is in a situation like this where she’s the focus of national attention, she must be extremely careful about how she reacts to it.”

Hume believes on balance this video didn’t help her and especially given the media’s “derangement syndrome” with trying to character assassinate her, would expect Palin to be more thoughtful with her public statements. Odd that throughout this whole ordeal, by far Palin’s strongest and unwavering supporter has not been any of her Fox News co-workers and instead has been MSNBC’s lonely conservative Pat Buchanan.

The Fox panel has lost their marbles and is just carrying water for the rest of the MSM the past two months. Just like they did in the 2008 campaign and through the inauguration. It took Rick Santelli over at CNBC to break the Obama propaganda machine across all news outlets.

Fox became a fair outlet with the advent of the tea party, but they are back to lockstep mode since November. I am not watching any more.

Watched less than one full minute after O’s speech and that was it. Have not watched FNC since and don’t log onto their websites either.

We can help them see the light if we stop clicking on their websites or watching their programs.

Well, of course Sarah is radioactive. There is a huge leadership vacuum in this country today and she shows time and time again that she has the cojones and the character to fill that void.

That kind of leadership glows in the dark!

Actually I see it as Palin resiliency is the problem, and its a problem for her liberal detractors.

They’ve thrown everything at her and she’s still standing. And they are continuing the attacks showing their own bullheadedness.

The MSM still thinks they have a veto over who is acceptable to run for President.

What’s needed here is more defiance. Tea Party leaders and organizations have to come out and say that they reject the use of violence but also reject the unconstitutional restriction of free speech, in particualar, political speech.

The Fox panel has lost their marbles

What the Left and the Bushites in the Republican Party want from Palin is an apology for being who she is. That is not going to happen.

The political Left hates Palin because she possesses all of the qualities that they lack and despise: intelligence, hard work, beauty, self-reliance, integrity, love of country, love of God. That is why Palin is radio-active.

For all you "Palin is unelectable" drones, the very fact that state-run media obsesses over her tells you who they fear.

You gotta ask yourself: "Why are they so afraid of her?"

The answer, of course, is because they know that she is eminently electable, and that her election would mark the death-knell of their authoritarian-socialist dreams.

ineluctable

Fox is just another network. Time to discontinue our Dish contract and go with the internet for our news....much cheaper, too.

Radioactive is almost the ultimate compliment. It means your Kryptonite to them.

The Left is acting out of frustration and desperation and it needs to be called out on it.

The negativity was mostly from Juan Williams--Brit's comments were pretty objective, even somewhat sympathetic. He isn't in the business of being Sarah's defender but rather trying to assess how she is doing at the moment.

Jonah Goldberg pointed out that if Sarah had not used the phrase "blood libel" the liberals would have pounced on something else, even if it was only a semi-colon, to attack what she said.

Perhaps if she’s radioactive she can light up the rooms the rest of the RNC is hiding in?

Pray for the Tea Party Congress

Could there by one Sunday that FOX does not
grovel for Obama and Romney by attacking Gov. Palin?

Nope.
From Hume to Wallace, and in between, it is flack for
ROMNEY. for OBAMA. ROMNEY. OBAMA. ROMNEY.

How dare Hume blame the victim!
