German Newspaper: German Intelligence Knew of Eichmann in Argentina and Kept it Secret for Years
Jan. 8. 2011 | justiceseeker93 (from LeMonde.fr)

Read this in on the French newspaper "Le Monde" web site. Here is a synopsis in translation:

A popular, widely circulated German newspaper reported that (West) German intelligence services knew of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann's whereabouts in Argentina as far back as 1952, yet willfully kept it secret from the rest of the world until at least 1958, when the information was shared with US intelligence. The newspaper published several relevant memos from those intelligence files with their article.

Until last year, the files had been kept under wraps by the German court having oversight responsibility for the intelligence agencies. The official reason generally given for keeping the Eichmann files "classified" until recently was that release could adversely affect German foreign policy and German diplomats, expecially in the Middle East.

Eichmann, the chief planner of the Nazi Holocaust and responsible for the deaths of millions of innocents, was kidnaped fron his hideout in Argentina by the Israeli Mossad in 1960, shipped to Israel for trial, sentenced to death, and hung in 1962.

This corroborates other information demonstrating that the West German government in the 1950s was less than zealous in pursuing Nazi war criminals and bringing them to justice. In Eichmann's case, he was being protected by the West German government as a result of its veil of secrecy.

Eichmann was hanged, not hung.

A lot of them went to Argentina.

I don’t think it was a big secret.

Thank you. Good grammar is a sign of an educated person. I wish more murderers were hanged.

A lot of them went to Argentina.

True, but Eichmann was, if not the most wanted Nazi war criminal, certainly near the top of the list. Plus, German intelligence not only knew he was in Argentina, they knew his exact location, according to the article in Le Monde.

Thanks justiceseeker93. Eichmann rec’d justice, unlike Mengele, who just hopped in his car and drove back to his hometown, then left the ruined fodderland. Himmler was picked up by the Red Army. They didn’t buy into his phony ID papers and civvies, and kept badgering him, until he finally just shrugged and said, “I am Heinrich Himmler.” Then he bit down on the suicide cap he’d been holding in his mouth. Martin Bormann’s (purported) skull has been photographed (I’ve seen it repro’d in a book somewhere) but there’s also a book out that claims he was the rumored traitor in the inner circle, and that he waited outside The Bunker in a trenchcoat, amid the smouldering ruins of Berlin, until a big grand car pulled up, someone opened the door for him, and whisked him away.

A lot of them went to Argentina.

There have always been suspicions that other top Nazis escaped to Argentina aboard U-977-which emerged there 3-1/2 months after the end of the war and surrendered.

The Israelis (G-d love ‘em) took care of that “untermensch” filth, Eichmann.
