They are Establishment Republicans solidly behind the New World Order plans and the Agenda 21 Program.

The first list, and many here at FR don’t wish to see her succeed because it flies against intellectualism, which often is a disguise for elitism, snobbery, arrogance and pride.

Sarah resonates with the middle class working social conservatives who may not grasp all of the arcane nuances of conservatism we argue about here but know their core values when they see them, just as they recognize that Obama, et al do not represent them.

A few days a go, a certain butt head (can’t remember the name) posted that “in order to win we have to nominate candidates who aren’t savaged on Leno or Letterman.”

Yep, I lit em up.

I think the liberal elites can’t get over Palin because they are flat-out jealous as hell. Look at her - she went to nondescript state schools, has a traditional marriage with a caring husband for a partner and lots of kids, is part of a big, loving family, is a national superstar, and now a very wealthy and powerful woman.

In short - she has EVERYTHING they don’t! And in most cases, the reason they don’t have it is because they “sacrificed” marriage, family, children (not to mention their souls) to scrap and claw their way to the top of some little pile, to graduate from ‘the right school’, get a job where they have some national attention, and earn decent money.

It’s JUST NOT FAIR ;-) In their world, people like Palin deserve to be barefoot and pregnant, working minimum wage jobs and shopping at Wal-Mart. Palin is bigger, richer, and more powerful than they are and they hate her for it.

She did not graduate from an Ivy League school.

She isn’t part of the Washington, D.C., circle of friends.

She’s a woman and isn’t trying to be a man, but neither does she hate men.

I’m sure there are other reasons, but those will do for a start.

If, for some reason, she decides not to run next year, she will be the social conservative version of Oprah before she turns 50, with all that that entails, mark my words.

A lot of the Republicans who dislike Sarah are neither conservative or elite, but they are establishment sluts who are threatened by Sarah, the Tea Party and real conservatives. They fear irrelevance, even though they already are.

Thanks! That saved me a LOT of time... If I ever get a chancel to meet up with you in RL, I’ll spot a bag of caramel corn for ya!

I think a lot of the criticism — from the right — is arrogance disguised as disdain. I doubt Sarah Palin reads Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, Kathleen Parker, George Will or even Charles Krauthammer.

I doubt it too, unless she has a Pompous Ass reading list.

The simplest answer is that her parents are Pentecostals and she grew up in a Pentecostal family. She does not now attend a Pentecostal church.

None of that matters to your high church types (Epi-scopals, Reform Jews ~ including self proclaimed Atheists, ECLA members, etc.) All they care is that you belonged to a church where people jump up, wave their arms in the air, dance in church, and so on. You do that and you're off their list forever.

Than you for a very insightful analysis. I am certain that religious bigotry from the elites is a factor in their disdain for Sarah Palin.

IN GOD WE TRUST

The country club types in the GOP sees that merely as a slogan. Sarah Palin lives it.

The libs know what they’re doing: They trash those whom they recognize as potential threats. They did it to Quayle. They did it to Newt. Sarah is good, and they know it.

Why? Because that’s what they always do to the self-educated even if a genius! The 2 mentioned are probably jealous because she may not have a higher I.Q. than either according to the tests they took, but she does have more power to influence than they in their own world of commentary. That is all they are, commentators. HA!

Adam Smith is probably not part of the Austrian School. I think he was a little earlier. Keynes and Friedman both claimed to derive from him and both were at least mistaken. The conservative Monetarists sound good when they discuss the world they would like to see but, like the Keynesians, they believe the economic levers should be operated by Experts under political supervision. They differ primarily on the color and shape of the levers and the scales of measurement.

wait....after listing to George Will, do YOU think he’s a conservative?

The New media says he is....

His words are not. He reminds me of the “old guard” republican school.

The Eyore schoold of economics, and full of Pooh on social issues.

>>>> "Sarah threatens them because she is a person of the people. She threatens all the establishment people who live in the right places, go to the right schools and the right cocktail parties. She is not one of them." <<<<<

I think you are right.

The U.S. is typically thought of as a classless society, but here is an example of sheer arrogant classism.

They denigrate her because she never attended the elite east coast Ivy League, they disdain her because she is unembarrassed to be from the hinterland of Alaska.

Their reaction to her says NOTHING about her, and scads about these self-righteous proud smug arrogant HAS-Beens, they are of the past, she is of the future.

Why anyone listens to any of these pundits is a real curiosity.
