No Forgiveness for John Edwards
The National Enquirer reports that when John Edwards realized that the end was near he begged his betrayed wife for forgiveness, but Elizabeth refused to relent.
On her deathbed, a hurt, angry Elizabeth screamed at John, saying ‘You ruined my life — I’ll NEVER forgive you!’
Reports say that John Edwards repeatedly broke down in tears, and actually doubled over with grief at Elizabeth’s bedside. But she showed John no remorse. Nothing he said could change Elizabeth’s mind.
The only concession Elizabeth was willing to grant her cheating husband was to pray with him that God would give him the strength to protect and raise their two young children, Jack and Emma Claire, after she was gone.
Cutting John Edwards Out of Her Will
Not only did Elizabeth refuse to forgive John as she neared death, she informed John that she’d changed her will to cut him off from part of their $53 million fortune if he married his mistress, Rielle Hunter, after she died.
As she lay dying, Elizabeth Edwards also unleashed her anger at Rielle Hunter for destroying her marriage and ruining the bright political future John Edwards had.
According to reports. Elizabeth also had a few choice words for Rielle before she died, screaming to John that Rielle…. will 'rot in hell!
A source close to the Edwards family reported that when it finally dawned on John that the end was near for Elizabeth, and that she would never forgive him, he collapsed.
No doubt John realized that the stress of dealing with his infidelity, and the bitterness and rage she felt about his betrayal served to hasten Elizabeth Edwards’ death.
The animosity Elizabeth harbored for his mistress, Rielle Hunter, was probably a contributing factor , as well.
Elizabeth Edwards' deathbed words will probably haunt John Edwards for the rest of his life.
“Him collapsing, or even crying is hard for me to envision.”
It’s entirely possible for that to happen to him on a bad hair-day, IMO.

I think technically, that would have died with Elizabeth.
She was simply his whore at that point.
And here I thought liberals were always kind, forgiving, understanding and compassionate.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven...While we don't know if this article is true, a genuine decision to accept Jesus into her heart would have changed her attitude toward John.
That said, maybe she just had an unexpected outburst of pique!

And can you believe that scumbag came to her deathbed asking for forgiveness? Is their a sleazier prominent politician in America? I mean, Teddy is dead now so Edwards is definitely top contender for most prominent lower than dirt scumbag in American politics.

Yup. They’re there to show us that we’ve all failed, and that we all need a Savior. From everything I’ve read, this woman never did turn to Christ.
I don't mean to speak ill of the dead but . . . Elizabeth Edwards made her "deal with the Devil" years ago. There may have been a time, when they were first married, that Elizabeth didn't realize what a sleaze John was but she has known for at least the past decade and she chose to stay with him in hopes of being a Vice President's wife or a President's wife. Just like Hillary, she knew about and put up with John's affairs and other sleazy conduct (with the understanding that it wouldn't become public) in trade for the fame and power that came with being a politican's wife. Elizabeth ruined her own life.
But, but...he's a regular guy; his daddy worked in a "meeee-ill!"
Do you remember when she said she "lived in fear" of a conservative neighbor because he owned guns?
That's what I was thinking. What she did was very bad for her soul.
