Barack Obama is George H.W. Bush?
rablogs ^

Posted on 12/11/2010 7:20:28 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

President Obama has been compared to a lot of past presidents. In the first days of his administration, he was compared to great presidents like Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, as well as John F. Kennedy. These days, Mr. Obama is being compared to some other presidents.

Sometimes, Mr. Obama is described as another Bill Clinton. After watching his Democrats take a pounding in the 1994 midterm election, Mr. Clinton pivoted to the center in 1995-96 in an effort to improve his own standing as his re-election drew near. (Like Mr. Obama, Mr. Clinton was perceived by some as having gone too far left in his first two years in office.)

Others see Mr. Obama as another George W. Bush because of his order of a troop surge in Afghanistan and efforts to continue at least some of the Bush-era tax cuts.

There is another comparison that is beginning to be made, however.

Some see Mr. Obama as another George H.W. Bush.

LOL. But she replied ‘seriously” and she will call him “Jimmy Carter” or run against him, as though he is Jimmy Carter.

She’s running, you know?

!!!!!!

Some see Mr. Obama as another George H.W. Bush.

This is a blatant attempt to re-invent the uber liberal ZERO as a moderate.

I hate many of his positions but GHWB:

Risked his life in war for America earning the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, and a Presidential Unit Citation
Married a class act of a wife
Worked for a living in the oil business
Did real work in public service for nearly 30 years
Appointed Clarence Thomas to the SCOTUS
Won the 1st Gulf War ove Iraq's invasion of Kuwait

ZERO has achieved nothing.

Beautifully put! I agree with another poster who said this is the media's attempt to relabel Obama as a moderate. I agree with you, too. GHWB is a superior person. Do I wish he had been more conservative? Sure. But I cannot brook Obama’s being compared to GHWB.

The one President he is not being compared to but would be the most fitting comparison

My son was telling me how incredibly witty GHWB was after he read some book about him.

These people are always revising history. It is what Marxists do. Can’t have truth prove all their ideas are bankrupt—literally. BO is most like Carter but even worse (if that is possible).

The sad part is, no other presidents have - or would want to be - compared to barack obama.

The stargazers in the press take turns putting their heads up his butt to prop him up by trying to compare him to other presidents - but their fatal flaw in that is most of us have studied history and paid attention for the past 40 years, and we know - with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter - there has never been another president this inept, incompetitent and disloyal to America.

The press needs to be told, "before you try to convince me that he is just like someone else, why not tell us who HE is...who he REALLY is".

But no, they are content to not push the matter of constitutional eligibility and the well-hidden facts about the mans past. Their take is he wrote a fricking book about his life - like he's going to write about the bad stuff.

Obama has controlled the narrative of his past from day-one, and it's time someone has the audacity to out him to the world.

A president - a real president - should be someone we all look up to, but with obama, well, he goes for the "fear factor"...fear means control; it's used by muslim terrorists the world over. Lessons learned are behavior practiced.

They want him to be everybody else, but no one wants to be him...

It's not only possible ... it's happening before our very eyes.
Astonishing, huh.

GHWB was and is a war Hero. Whatever else I feel about him, he doesn’t deserve the comparison to this man.
I’ve decided Obama stands on his own unique island. I can’t even compare him to Carter anymore, I don’t think Carter hates this country as deeply as Barack does.

I won’t say he’s worse than Carter. Carter is largely responsible for the existence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and everything that followed including the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan which led to AQ and Bin Laden, the Iran Iraq War, the formation of Hezbollah and Hamas, the entire modern Jihadist movement really. All because Carter did nothing throughout 79 and 80(even after they took our hostages). It will be very tough for Obama to reach that level.

Of course, Carter’s ineptness and failures also brought us Reagan. If Carter was even halfway decent Reagan never would have been President. So, there is that benefit.

Lets hope Obama brings us a similar turnaround.

He also appointed David Souter and thus singlehandedly kep Roe v Wade on the books. Whatever good he got from Thomas is more than wiped away by Souter. That was a total disaster that conservatives may never fully recover from.

I don’t blame him so much for losing in 92. We’d had the WH for 12 yrs, that’s al ong time. The dems were bound to win eventually.

But the Souter appt was just awful. Really mars his entire term for me.

It is ironic that he got in trouble for breaking a no new taxes pledge and now Obama is in trouble with his base for breaking a yes new taxes pledge.

I agree.
I didn't post because I thought GHWB was a great president. I posted to say he lived an accomplished life that made some positive contributions as opposed to ZERO who has made none. GWHB doesn't deserve to be drug down to ZERO's level and no amount of MSM BS will elevate ZERO to GHWB's.

The history of Obama isn’t written yet. We don’t know all of what he’s done or will do and how it will reverberate through time.

Iran is easily one of Carter’s larger disasters, but I think when he was voted out people might have been thinking more along the lines of energy and the economy at the time.

Given the utter stupidity of things Obama has done that we know about, my guess is that over the next two years it won’t be difficult for Obama to top even Carter considering they are both cut from nearly the same cloth.
