My Very Own TSA Nightmare - new category of suspect persons to the TSA: “traveling with scars"
Pajamas Media ^ | November 17, 2010 | Andrew Ian Dodge

...I went through the scanner fully cooperating and followed the instructions. Yet I was still taken aside as I exited the machine. No warning bells went off like with the old metal detectors, so I thought it might be random.

As I was asked to move aside, a TSA woman said to me: “Do you know you look like Ron Jeremy (the porn star)? I guess you get that a lot.” I replied that I also got “Gene Simmons,” which I preferred. Needless to say, I replied to them in a polite manner despite the inappropriate banter.

They took me aside and did the pat-down, feeling all over my body as is their habit. Then the TSA officer proceeded to feel my stomach as if I were a pregnant woman. He explained that I had a hard patch on my stomach and they wanted to check it and make sure it was all me. It was painful and disturbing.

I informed the TSA officer that it was the scar from my colon cancer operation that went from my crotch to my sternum. A day later the scar still hurts from the kneading and prodding. I was informed they were checking in order to determine if I had anything sewn into my stomach. I offered to lift my shirt to show the TSA officer the still rather graphic scar, but he refused.

So in just five minutes I was told I looked like a notorious porn star by a TSA female employee and then had my scar examined by a man. I was so very pleased to be reminded of the painful and frightening (I had post-op complications including “dying several times”) experience of a few years ago.

I guess there is a new category of suspect persons to the TSA: “traveling with scars.”

What exactly did all this have to do with stopping terrorists? Why was it necessary to embarrass and humiliate me? What was accomplished by this disgusting display by a power-drunk staff? I have never had this sort of experience before despite my frequent traveling both in the U.S. and abroad.

Surely it would have been better had the dozens of staff on hand been inspecting packages in the holds of airplanes instead of kneading my scar.

Told he looks like a porn film star after going through the scan—and he’s complaining?

You just have to push the People a little bit at a time and see what they’ll put up with. And they’ve found that we’ll put up with a lot. Hell, we regularly pee for a job, what’s a quick grope for a plane ride?

"It is better to have one hundred radiation-induced cancers in every child in America
than to disturb or inconvenience or separate out
even one single foreign Moslem or undocumented alien.
Just as we have exempted them from ObamaCARE and its burdensome taxes,
our beloved Moslems will forever be excused and protected
from TSA-imposed invasive breast, genital, rectal and scar examinations, and
from the nude pictures we assemble, store, and distribute
of American scum."

We already have cases of rectum bombs.

If a jihadi were intent on blowing up a plane, what would a surgery to sew the bomb in be to him? Have your testicles removed and replaced with PETN. A uterus full of PETN. etc..

The TSA approach to solving this problem leads obviously and quickly to no air travel for anyone.

Dems just losing more independents. Choosing sexual assault over profiling. I saw Kirstin Powers on Hannity say, I don't know why they are using that scanner there is a better one. ( Because Soros probably doesn't own stock in that company, Kristin)

People that stupid are a threat to themselves and those around them, as they are in constant danger of causing a Darwin Award incident.

Seems there is always another agenda, beyond what is stated, with this administration.

Very true. But on the other hand: "It's a very bad idea to strip motivated people of their dignity and then rub their noses in it." Henry Bowman.

I see an image of Islamic terrorists watching the last batman movie where the Joker sends a guy to jail with a bomb and a cellphone sewn into his body.

Those Moslems tend to to adhere to imaged icons. Its a workable strategy that TSA probably has been instructed to be on the lookout for.

What we don’t hear is what has been the internet “chatter” lately, I suspect there was a lot of discussions going on about Moslems looking for doctors and to how well they could surgically implant an IED.

So its a big deal right now traveling by air, it would be a MUCH bigger deal if on or around Thanksgiving Day that a whole heck of a lot of “body bombs” started exploding on aircraft.

I am NOT blaming TSA, if anything I give a stern eye to the whiners and complainers trying to make a big deal about it and stopping TSA in its tracks.

Bottom line is this, we are at war and people just cannot think war will affect them here in America, and they bitch when people who can face it interfere with their lives.

We all should show some restraint and some more common sense about this, and address the roots of this problem, which if a person cannot see it they are well and truly an idiot of modern society.

Fellow FReepers, am I wrong?

Not everyone feels inadequate and needs strangers to tell them they measure up.

Has there ever been a tine when petty officals DIDN’T abuse their power?

I’ve only flown once since 9-11. The TSA guy who checked my ID in Salt Lake City laughed at my picture on my photo ID and made some insulting comment. Then, on the way hone a few days later, the TSA idiots in L.A. had no idea what to do about the 2 boxes of .45LC ammo I declared. The nice lady at the Delta counter had to tell them.

I drive to L.A. to visit family now. F*** the TSA Gestapo.

What is TSA doing that would find an internal bomb? Possibly the scanners, but if you refuse them all this patting down won’t.

For the TSA to fully justify its mission...anybody traveling will naturally become a suspect...because the ONLY reason any sane person would put up with their cr#% to ride in an airliner would be to hijack it as a missile!!!
