That's wacky!

Q: Who's the Irish homosexual who comes out of the closet in the Spring and goes back into the closet in the Fall?

A: Patty O'Furniture

The gay-decorated coffins are certainly not my cup of tea

Why don't we cut through the flowery platitudes?

Can you describe exactly what "gay-decorated" is?

I would suggest that we discuss "homosexual sex" decorated as sex, sexual preferences and proclivities is the ONLY thing that differentiates the norm from the disordered homosexual...

Pull your head out of the sand.

> Can you describe exactly what "gay-decorated" is?

"Exactly", no, as the picture is too small to see details. However, the description was of "homoerotic artwork" including "muscular young men in classical poses", which is pretty self-explanatory: handsome men posing nude. I can't tell what the poses are, but Greek, Roman, or Renaissance statues come to mind.

If you wish. I have no problem with that.

Erotic heterosexual artwork is just as much about sex, as erotic homosexual arwork is about sex. There have been people who commissioned caskets with erotic heterosexual artwork (e.g. women posing nude on a man's casket), but they are relatively rare and considered crude, tasteless, or worse, by most normal people.

I don't know how many of these "homosexual sex-decorated" caskets have been sold, but my guess is that they are also relatively rare and considered crude, tasteless, or worse, by most normal people.

There's no mention in any of the articles of them successfully selling even ONE of these things -- they just started offering them. Frankly I'll be astonished if they sell more than a handful. Living around Ithaca, NY, I know a number of gay people, and I cannot imagine even one of them seriously buying such a thing. So how much influence it will have, I can't say, but I think it's a negligible, niche market.

My whole point in posting was pointing out your use of the term "gay". "Gay" is to the homosexual agenda like "choice" is to the abortion on demand agenda -it is but lipstick on a pig -but air freshener sprayed upon a pile of poop.

Oh, okay.

I frankly resented it, decades ago, when homosexuals co-opted "gay" to describe a lifestyle that is often anything but happy-go-lucky. In my opinion it is a euphemism, and not a particularly accurate one.

Actually, "gay" had been used to describe uninhibited lifestyles, both hetero and homo, for over a century. It has indicated a "ladies' man", a "female courtesan", and a variety of other things, mostly centering the idea of a carefree, joyous, lack of worry; it usually carried a sexual connotation.

I have no desire whatsoever to "advance the cause of the homosexual agenda", but I rather doubt that my employment of a widely-used term like "gay" on a conservative forum is likely to have any discernible effect on that agenda. Since we differ on that perception, rather than argue, I will acknowledge your point of view and politely opine that my comments don't have much lasting effect on the world.

Besides, I type or say "homosexual" much of the time when making such references; I generally strive for precision. But to be honest, "gay" is three letters and one syllable, whereas "homosexual" is ten letters and five syllables, and brevity sometimes trumps precision. :)
