The Fed's printing press, explained by a cartoon. Awesome.

Wooden characters, wooden dialogue (computer generated, no less. Ugh!)
I can’t take this seriously.
tooo long...crude language...why do people use the S@$T word? why not just say “your dunging me”..... I just don’t get it....
very good video.
Thanks for posting. I loved it.
Are you S@$ting me? The language is there to bestow outrage on an outrageous situation.
OK, two out my three sons are staunchly Conservative but one is very Progressive although he denies it so I call him a Closet Progressive. That son told me that, in spite of having economics classes in college, he didn’t understand all this economy business. In fairness, I didn’t either after my economics classes but thankfully had read more on the subject prior to my classes than apparently my instructors had. So, I asked my son why he didn’t understand that you can’t borrow your way out of debt and he just stared at me.
A long paragraph to say that current 20-somethings only understand these South Park-like presentations. It is possible, although not likely he would watch something like this. But, sadly, he still wouldn’t believe it after watching it.
Maybe your son should read some of the better economics texts... Hazlett and Mises and such.
This video seems to be a descendant of a video that went viral this summer. It stars the same two generated characters where one works in a phone store and the other is trying to buy an iPhone. The video is called "iPhone4 vs HTC Evo " on YouTube. It has a lot of profanity, but it is very funny. That video has gotten over 10 million hits, and now it is spawning copycats. There is another one about a fireman complaining about his gold plated pension.
While they might not be your cup of tea, I think this a good strategy to mainstream these budget discussions. These videos will target the right demographic age group, and I would certainly not mind one of these getting 10 million hits.
That’s the problem. He, and a lot of these 20-somethings, just don’t bother to read. Once he left school, he was done reading. Their information comes from Jon Stewart, Comedy Central, and each other. They prefer not to learn but spout drivel like “doing their research” where Obummer was concerned. Yet, when pressed, they know nothing other than the soundbites acquired from Jon Stewart about any and all candidates. His best friend all but worships Obummer; how sad is that.
That sounds very sad indeed. Reality is going to slap them in the face, maybe sooner than later.
I would give him this one to start. An excellent book written in easy to understand terms by the layman.
Well, it does say it's for Dummies!
Quantitative Easing for Dummies
I am thinking of sending this link to Paul Krugman, maybe he can understand QE with cartoon characters because he certainly is clueless about it.
Fantastic animation and explanation!
Many thanks for posting.
your right.... my generational outrage is showing.... smile....
There was a time when people could get messages across without inserting filthy language in mixed company. maybe you are not aware of that... but I remember it well.
I believe we lower ourselves to a level which is below decency when we pick up and share the crudeness.
we will never agree on what is filth and what is not because we see society differently. Why does it make it more real to use nasty words? Does it make the evil more real? People who are educated in language don’t find that necessary. I agree to disagree on the need for filth.
