In the last few days Democrat Jerry Brown's gubernatorial campaign has been doing damage control after someone close to him was heard calling his Republican rival Meg Whitman a "whore."
In the immediate aftermath, it was assumed that it was one of Brown's assistants who uttered the derogatory phrase. However, new sources reveal that it may have been someone much closer to Brown: his wife.
According to anonymous sources close to Brown, it was his wife Anne who called Whitman a "whore." When asked about the quote, the source inadvertently said that it was Brown's wife when stating, "The person who said that word is someone who can't be fired... Jerry's wife can't be fired."

Of course: he’s a Democrat - blame the woman!
Moonbeam Brown has a wife? What’s his name?
LOL. Apparently it’s “Anne Gust Brown.” More like “Anguish Brown.”

In yesteryear, "together for 20 years" might have been construed as...what she allegedly called Whitman. And "high powered businesswoman", go figure. It sounds like she's another hardcore capitalist (when it comes to her own money) within the Party of Redistribution.
Brown’s wife? Nonsense.
Listen to the audio! It is a man’s voice & it sure sounds like Jerry Brown to me.
I'm sorry to *i$$ on the writer's Corn Flakes, but making the leap to Brown's wife is quite an assumption when we still don't know who was in the room. At no point in the recording did I hear a woman's voice, let alone one saying whore.
Good grief! Are we going to go down their road to start making stuff up to gain some perceived political advantage? Listen up, whoever the jackwagon is who wrote this article, we own the truth right now and in the long run that will be the most valuable political advantage of all.
Did the writer ever consider the fact that Jerry Brown himself could not be fired?
Straight outta Saturday Night Live.....
“What’s his name?”
No kidding. That was a man’s voice on the tape.
I hope “pinning it on the woman - AGAIN!” will backfire bigtime. Sadly, I’m always wrong.
I tend to agree with you.
They just discussed this on Fox & Friends and questioned if there was really a women’s voice (didn’t seem to think so). Ali mentioned something to the effect of it was a terrible word to use, not one that is used in normal conversation, and, it might be more ‘acceptable’ if a women used it about another women than if a man used it (not that it is an acceptable word to use at all).
The brief clips I’ve heard over the past day or 2 on TV, sure don’t sound like a women’s voice - - unless Ms Brown has a very deep voice. Even if it was her that said it (highly doubtful IMHO), is that what the people of CA want representing them as First Lady of CA???
At least this got Gloria’s mug and Niky’s fake crocodile tears off the TV, for the time being.
They are going the angle that blacks can call blacks nig*a and not be condemned....they hope the woman calling a woman a whore will fly too...
LIBERAL LOGIC at its finset...as well playing the victim attack victim card too....
You are missing the point. The person quoted never said it was his wife, only the person who said it could not be fired.
Ask yourself this question; Who is the one person in any campaign who cannot be fired?
To be fired, one must first have to be “working” for the campaign.
Second, if this writer, in his misguided zeal, manages to get the idea floated and the MSM comes up with evidence that she was not even in the room, they will run stories wall to wall about Right Wing Nuts blaming it on a woman and are ganging up on his wife.
Right, now that is a real smart political move.
Brown’s wife, mother, father, couisns, neices, nephews always call women “whores”...
So what is new?
That’s a good point that crossed my mind as well. Brown’s campaign was silent for three days. Then all of a sudden, anonymous sources pop up and quickly say it was Brown’s wife...sounds really fishy to me.
Maybe “wifey”forgot her hormone treatments during the campaign?
the press needs to press JB on who said it. day after day the way they pressed MW day after day.
Let’s hope they do, but I can’t imagine the MSM doing something as honest as that. Thank God for Free Republic.
**IF** it was a male aide - he would have been immediately identified and thrown under the bus with a tearful apology.
It is clearly Jerry Brown himself. Nothing else makes sense.
Wait for some poor sap to have a *come to Jesus* moment and confess. They are spinning wheels with the wifey - that will also be proven untrue and/or totally unacceptable.
