Bill Maher says most Americans are stupid for believing in religion and the Bible. Appearing on the O’Reilly Factor yesterday for the second night in a row (in what was some kind of Bill O’Reilly-provided showcase for Maher’s shockingly provocative views), Maher disdainfully branded the majority of the American people as unsophisticated morons because, essentially, the US is a predominantly Christian country where people read the Bible, go to church, and actually have the non-European tradition of believing in a higher power.

I am no huge fan of Bill O’Reilly, but O’Reilly made a fool of Bill Maher.
He’s such an obnoxious, pompous a$$ - I have to change the channel when I see his face.
If I was an atheist I would not want Bill Maher as my poster boy.

He is absolutely correct. Jesus told us that the world would judge us insane or stupid or both. Satan and his ferrets think we are stupid. Now precisely what does that tell you?
Most Americans don’t give a poop about what Bill Maher thinks. And the rest don’t even know who he is.
This is a real pet peeve of mine. There is absolutely nothing "shocking" or "provocative" about some Lib calling middle America or religious Christians "stupid." It is banal. And then the MSM does this Kabuki dance about how "shocking and controversial" the statements are, as if America is some theocracy and Maher is going to get arrested for saying this. I've got news for them. Its the Lib establishment view that Maher is repeating, nothing more, nothing less. There couldn't be anything more conventional.
So, if I believe something came from nothing (big bang) and then arranged itself through random processes into intelligent life...that makes me a lot smarter than those idiots who believe anything else.

I saw this, and Maher said, “There’s a great quote from Thomas Jefferson about how ridicule is the only appropriate way to handle such fantasy.”
Maher is an idiot, and proved that with his assbackwards representation of Jefferson’s quote. The actual quote is “Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us.”
He proved that reason is against him.
Indeed, nothing shocking controversial, or unforeseen about it.
Maybe Bill is angry because he blames God for having deformed ears and nose.
Wisdom of God is foolishness to the world.
Maher bores me, Hitchens as well.
He should move somewhere that would be more to his liking...
