Charlie Cook Says Republican “Wave” is Coming; Believes GOP Will Regain Control of the House – Video

Here is video of political prognosticator Charlie Cook saying that a Republican “wave” is coming in this November’s Midterm Elections, and that he believes they will regain control of the House of Representatives. Cook is now estimating a gain of 35-45 seats for the GOP, but says that is a “conservative” estimate. It will likely be more. the GOP needs a net gain of 39 seats to take control of the House.

In the Senate, he thinks the GOP will come up short of the 10 seat gain needed to regain control. It is possible, but he said the GOP will have to “run the table” to do it.

The GOP had damn well better get the House, at least.

Cook thinks that repeating this “wave” over and over will make for conservatives to be comfy with a win and keep some at home. Not this time.

I’m a little more cautiously optimistic. Yes, there is a backlash brewing, but to the point of overturning a Dem majority?

I find it disheartening that there is even a contest this year over whether the Dems retain control. It should be a slam dunk, in light of the overwhelming evidence of the damage that Dems have inflicted, but the polls are still inconclusive!

We are truly lost if the public is this blind.

“The GOP had damn well better get the House, at least.”

The GOP had damn well get their minds right, and realize that we the people mean business. The time for pussy footing around with the Anti America Socialists is over.

They are going to be held to account.

Republicans regain the House?

We have to do everything in our power to stop this! If the GOP retakes the House, they’ll NEVER learn the valuable lessons that could be learned from our voting third party and letting the Dems keep control!!

The MSM could actually have “word of god info” that the republicans were going to win every single seat but they would never report it.

I am curious to see what happens in the senate.

EVERY “Blue Dog” Dem must be defeated, which is 54 seats. They lie to their conservative constituents, then vote exactly the way Pelosi orders them to. And they will vote for her as Speaker, should the Dems win the majority.

Surely, a few liberal Dems can also bite the dust, so 65 seats should be the target. Aim for that, GOP.

I don’t think so. There are 3 men who, regardless of their personal political beliefs, are absolutely worth listening to when it comes to election analysis. Charlie Cook, Michael Barone and Stuart Rothenberg. Ignore them and you are ignoring great insight.

They're obviously standing by, waiting to make the gains by being the default party.

Big mistake. The last two big republican victories came when the party not only defined the democrats as liberals, but offered a positive alternative to the marxist agenda of the dems - Reagan and Gingrich in 94.

I haven't heard anyone in leadership call Pelosi so much as a liberal, let alone the far left extremist she in fact is. Its driving me nuts.

I’m not ignoring. I’ll take any and all good as it comes from any reliable source. I just know that Cook is a lib and any news from any lib makes me take pause.

I completely agree. Other than Sarah Palin, nobody is calling the turds out. Well....Michelle Bachmann is vocal. I like her, too.

TV. The 5 networks own ALL the TV channels and they ALL support Obama 100%. NFL, NBA, MBL, NCAA and ESPN fawn all over him.

They control TV. People who pay for cable and sat TV each month keep them in power. About $5 of every bill goes to each network. Fox? They have 7% Saudi ownership and are almost as bad.

I have often wondered why the undocumented Kenyan hasn't agreed to pay for everyone's cable TV bills - wow that would keep him boy king forever.

I actually believe that the Senate is more in play than the House. Rasmussen shows numbers greatly favoring Republicans - I think we’ll take all the toss-ups and maybe one “leans Dem.”

You can see how KeyHouseRaces.com ranks the 93 House seats that are in play this year HERE

Charlie Cook's estimate of 35-45 is right in line with how we see it here at FR.

This should be a year in which republicans absolutely DESTROY democrats in November. Unfortunately, republican candidates can invariably be counted on to equivocate, weasel and seek the approbation of the NY Times should an actual QUESTION be asked of them. Taking the conservative stand voters presently long for would be FAR too difficult for these champions of the supple spine and flaccid wrist. In short, a dozen...perhaps dozens of potential victories will be turned into defeat by RINOs and others gutless favorites of party elites.
