Daily Kos Blogger: 9/11 Was ‘More About Optics than Actual Harm’

"Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat. Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell. The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion"

Well dang, why are so many of us upset over a little optical effect like the WTC attack?

These leftists don't even have human emotions and thought processes any more. For all thier claims to be caring people, they're incapable of actually caring in the normal sense of the word. They can pretend to care if they are ordered to become involved and excited about someting, but they can't actually feel and care which is why they're always angry and searching for 'meaning'. They only understand their own herd, a herd of rampaging, thoughtless, animals, devoid of even the most basic human emotions like love of their own child or sympathy for others.

Optical effect? I suggest the blogger in question go down to Ground Zero and tell me that the buildings which are no longer there disappeared as the result of an “optical illusion”.

"Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat.

It doesn't take a whole lot of people to perpetrate a serious attack. Just 21 radical muslims sacrificed themselves and killed what - nearly 3000 Americans? I don't fear them, but I sure do not trust them.

Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell.

BS. As someone else pointed out, if you destroyed the same amount of office space in Seattle, you would effectively wipe out the entire city's businesses. Actual harm? They destroyed an entire city's worth of businesses! Only the fact that it occurred in a large city masked the actual scale of the damage.

The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion"

And yet even you acknowledge that there was, and is, a large reaction to the attack. Right or wrong, justified or not, the reaction is there. Real people have to deal with the real world, not this fantasy idealism-land this whack-job seems to live in.

Blogger is a classic reason why abusing drugs is (and should be) illegal. Tends to make you see life as a series of “optical effects”.

"Any more" . . . ? Anyone who reads the Manifesto knows that it's about shedding your humanity.

These devils ought to try telling the families that lost three thousand loved ones that their losses were all "optical effects". And thanks of course to these devils for violating Article 3 section 3 with impunity.

The fact that they are a minority here doesn’t mean squat. The Nazis were a minority in Poland and look what happened. Even if only 1% of Muslims are radical and willing to die for Jihad that means over 10 million homicidal maniacs we have to deal with.

Yep, the only optics i see a muslim understanding is through a rifle scope and the only way to have peace with this group is to bury them all. It is time this group take responsibility and police their own rank and file members or face the wrath of an entire nation. We as nation sit by and watch them advance their cause with the helpful efforts of this a**hole in The White House. This November we can replace all their accomplices in Congress through the ballot box and if we do not replace them it is our own fault. Get out and vote and vote them out that help advance the muslim cause.

The same could be said about my fist in the author's face.

What an astonishing example of the societal reprobate mind, or at least of the reprobate mind possessed by the author. (Romans 1:28; etc.)

A reprobate mind is one which can not longer think correctly or come to safe, logical, reasonable, or moral conclusions about vital issues of life.

This author could, with his kind of thinking, ascend to a federal judicial bench one day, given the current standards of federal courts on our Left Coast.

How many MORE lives were lost at the WTC than were lost at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, and over which we entered into full-blown warefare with Japan which ended only after we proved that their military's self-anihilation mind set would only bring the utter destruction of entire Japanese cities by nuclear attack?

But in at least one reprobate mind, watching two big buildings fall is the only thing that makes 9-11 seem disasterous.

People who think like this (if one can even call it "thinking") are teaching children in our government/public schools. People like this are in judgeships. Further, I fear that there are segments of our military leadership who are beginning to think like this.

Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad...
Those who wish to destroy G-d are already mad.
Thus the insane left and islam are conjoined in their madness. Between them, they are an acid eating away at the soul of humanity.

How ironic! I penned their typical tripe on this a few days ago:

“Bush did it.

He saw Tim’s speech on how it was all getting better and then he set in motion the drop in unemployment for the prior month.

Oh, and Bush and Cheney took a weekend off of work in lat 2001 and rigged up the World Trade Center buildings with plastic explosives. There were no planes that flew into the buildings, but some super-secret external holographic projectors were used to make it look like two planes had. They even had a few close friends fake the plane manifests, but when actual people showed up for the fake flights, to prevent the media from knowing about the real plans, they bussed the passengers into a special detention center (similar to what was subsequently used in Iraq, once Bush was looking “presidential enough” to go to war there). At the detention centers, they later realized that if any of the “passengers” ever got out, they’d lose all their “war-cred” and a scandal would erupt. That’s when Bush and Cheney took another vacation back to the detention centers and killed everyone. The scraps of skin and DNA evidence were sprinkled around the dump where WTC debris were stored, and the FBI then “found” this planted evidence, making it look like actual passengers were on actual planes that flew into the WTC. Bush got his side benefit of growing the “military-industrial complex” to outsized proportions and was subsequently reelected.

This is exactly how they sound.

I liked all your responses and wanted to add my 2 cents. Ok it’s only a ruble but that’s all that’s left...after Obamanomics....

“Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat.”

Given that they are a small minority in the world, it’s odd that they make up the majority of senseless mass murderers. It’s also odd that they are the only religion that I know of that says they should cut down unbelievers in their path with every assurance that their god will not punish them because he has commanded them to do so.

“Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell.”

3000 innocent people representing many nations of the world ( a measure of our ethnic and racial tolerance and harmony) targeted because they were unarmed and located in the heart of a metropolis are more than...just ....optics. I can see serial killer Ted Bundy referring to the people he killed as being ‘more about optics than actual harm’ but I cannot see an American referring to slaughter of our people by terrorists who draw sustenance from our country before killing our citizens as mere optics.

“The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion”

Then why did bloodthirsty Muslims worldwide celebrate their victory over us when it happened? Why do they push for a Muslim center to commemorate their ‘successful’ killings?
Why wasn’t a crescent shaped memorial located on the killing fields where the aircraft went down sufficient? Why do they still threaten to kill us? It’s not our reaction that should raise eyebrows. The entire CIVILIZED world recoiled in horror in that precedent setting attack on a nation. I don’t recall anyone asking why the British were ‘so surprised’ to see the Towers fall. But I do remember the videos of Muslims dancing in the streets...

Just to put things in perspective a bit... there were a thousand more souls killed in the World Trade Center bombing than at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Guess we should simply have forgiven the Japanese, too, and forgotten about the whole thing.

How far we’ve fallen as a nation and as a people....
