If you've ever wondered why politicians often tell gargantuous lies even though the truth is so easily revealed, you're really going to be scratching your head on this one. At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Connecticut Attorney General and Democratic Senate Candidate Richard Blumenthal said, "We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam." He may be right about learning something but Mr. Blumenthal never served in Vietnam.

This is amazing! This is thread number four on Blumenthal in 20 minutes! We will be reminding him of this blatant lie as we follow him around Connecticut.

""We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam."
He misspoke. What he meant to say was that we have learned something important since the days that he protested against the war in Vietnam. We have also learned something since the days I was a hippie smoking pot and growing it in my back yard while getting back at 'The Man'. We learned it was fun to be 'The Man' so that's why I'm running for the Senate.

It’d be so sweet to knock this smarmy lying f*** off but sadly this probably means he’ll only win by 5 points.

No surprise here. If there’s one thing I learned during my service in the War between the States, it is to never trust a Connecticut Yankee.

"never trust a Connecticut Yankee"
I served as a Pennsylvania Yankee in the War between the States and we didn't trust those Connecticut Yankees either...

I am a Connecticut Yankee and didn't trust Dodd to the point me and other CY's followed him to every public function in the state until we drove him out of office.

This is all the more reason to attend Tea Party rallies wherever BlumenDodd goes in the state and use this lie to drive the final nail in his political coffin.

The New York Times says it’s true (check the full article for the source link). And we know the Times isn’t known for printing lies that reflect badly on Democrats!

I served as a Pennsylvania Yankee in the War between the States and we didn't trust those Connecticut Yankees either... Everyone trusted our weapons though. Everyone who didn't have one made here wished they did.
Never have so few armed so many so well for so long.
Went to a military museum in Buenos Aires years ago. They had more weapons made in my state than I've seen displayed in my state.
Until 1918, Connecticut was the second largest producer of peaches in the country too.

Didnt John Kerry spend a few days in Viet Nam? Yup, actually about 3 months, while the rest of us served a full year. He got to An Thoi about the second week of Nov '68. I missed him by 2 1/2 weeks as I can best figure. I was there from late Oct '67 to late Oct '68 and trained on his boat (#94) or the #10 boat ....can't recall for sure. (must be getting old!)
I was in a support unit and not regular crew. (maintenance and repair) Trained and occasionally filled in as a backup boat engineer. Exciting times to say the least.
BTW, he doesn't attend Swift Boat Sailors' Reunions. He's not very highly regarded there, to say the least
