Karl Rove: Sarah Palin isn’t quite ready to be President

It’s not that she isn’t qualified, it’s that she hasn’t transitioned herself into a presidential candidate:

“She can think on her feet...”

Um, no she can’t. As evidenced by how easy it was for Katie and Charlie to ambush her and make her out to be another Dan Quayle.

She’s no dummie. But she needs to put in the time learning the ropes and getting to know the issues backwards and forwards. When she becomes a walking encyclopedia, they won’t be able to trip her up so easily.

She is’t but she’d make a good VP.

VP’s are attack dogs and she’d be great!

I’m no fan of Karl Rove, but he actually defends Sarah Palin in this video clip (re: the cheap shot from 0bama about her nuclear credentials), and all Rove says is that she needs to start presenting herself as someone who is ready to assume the Presidency and lead this Nation out of it’s troubles.

Rove is so jealous. A month or so ago he came out with a list of Most Influential Conservatives. Sarah Palin didn’t make the list at all, not even last place. That says it all.

Well, he’s right. I really, really like Sarah Palin, but I’m concerned that she seems not so intellectually curious.

I disagree completely. I think she's the most exciting and capable thing to happen to conservatism since Reagan.

“I take it that Sarah hasn’t figured out a strategery for winning yet, other than to campaign for McCain in 2010 and in 2012.”

It’s precisely this cronyism stuff that prevents her from being true to what she claims are her principles. McPain is a RHINO. Palin has no business endorsing a RHINO. It’s political payback for her and this is WRONG!

Those were out of left field questions and the interviews were also sliced and diced before they aired.

He’s right. As long as she continues to cheerlead for the likes of McCain and Steele she is not ready to lead in my opinion.

Sarah Palin is showing everyone that she IS presidential material.

In what way is she showing everyone that she is presidential material?

I'm so glad we have a Marxist President who can think quickly on his feet....as long as he has a teleprompter to bread someone else's words.

Sheeesh, such a liberal troll....

I somewhat agree with carl. Not sure I understand his point of view here. But I do sense something is lacking in palin so far. I havn’t completely figured out why I feel this way. I was previously thinking she wasn’t quick on her feet in a public debate...a variation of the MSM’s claim that she isn’t smart. But now I’m starting to think I am just not happy with the way she interacts with the MSM. I would prefer she was stronger bolder and more confident in her dealings with who I consider to be my enemy...that is the MSM.

I agree. I like her a lot as well but as a fundraiser and cheerleader for our positions on the issues. She can draw the bucks and the people to support the candidates who already have the basics and the ability to fend off serious questions. I give her a pass on supporting McCain but I’m not convinced she’d have the will to oppose the long-term democrats in Congress or to round up the more recalcitrant Republicans.

Exactly!

Palin has become a political religion.

Sarah is a good person but she is o Margaret Thatcher.

What did he say that was untrue?

Because Rove, or anybody else, doesn't know what Sarah is going to do next. He falsely assumes that she's already running for President, and then basically orders her to start being a candidate already. Simply disingenuous on his part.

Actually, the sainted Ronald Reagan gave us George Bush. His other mistake was named Sandra Day.

“Actually, the sainted Ronald Reagan gave us George Bush. His other mistake was named Sandra Day.”

Good point, though I wonder whether GB1 was his first choice, rather than being foisted on him by the RINO wing.
