Republican Rep. Frank LoBiondo (N.J.) received heavy criticism from a Tea Party activist at a recent town hall meeting in his district. In this video, the eighth-term congressman is grilled on his knowledge of the Constitution after he misstates the content of Article I Section I of the document.
Heck, Obama has never read it..
Take your Constitution to town halls.
Here is a sample question: Can you show me where in the Constitution it says the federal government can take over the entire countries student loan program? Quote it for me.
IMO, everyone running for Congress should take and pass a monitored comprehensive test on the Constitution and Bill of Rights and their answers published on the internet before they are allowed to file for office. Then they would be retested each time they choose to run for re-election.
Most people have never read it. But more are starting too, I would also suggest reading up on a young lawyer named Patrick Henry and the Rights of a Jury to NULLIFY BAD LAW.
Oh, he's read it. He just disagrees with it entirely.
Just try asking any legislator about the meaning of Article II Section 1, the provision on presidential eligibility. No senator, all of whom signed Senate Res. 511 in 2008 stating that McCain was a natural born citizen because both of his parents were citizens seems able to remember anything about it. Even Orrin Hatch, who initiated an amendment to Article II Section 1 in 2003 can no longer recall the definitions he wanted to change. We are paying spineless crooks to sell influence to the highest bidder, and paying them for their short memories. (Let me make one exception. Georgia Congressman Nathan Deal asked the White House for verification because his constituents asked. The response from the White House was a set of ethics charges - probably phony. Deal resigned from the house to run for governor. Be sure Deal is Georgia’s next governor. He showed the courage to ask about the emperor’s new clothes.)
I think we need to call an assembly of the people...a peaceable assembly....to petition our government for a REDRESS of our grievances against this health bill.
We forget this part of the first amendment. We need to do it. Not just have a tea party, but at the party, draw up our petitions and demand our constitutional rights for REDRESS of the Health care bill!
I like that idea!
Oops, you forgot that video link again!
Here you go, to save everyone a click:

It’s time the Constitution took center stage at townhalls ... Quiz the congressional clunkers.
I suppose you could say the town-halls are the forum for redress, all the speechifying of the past is apparently over for now.
Thanks for the link!
Yes, they should take a test of the Constitution and it up to us, “We The People” to give them their test and the man in the video did excellent!
You're very welcome!
Thanks for the link!
I hate to click on links to n00bie blogs because they might be porn or have viruses.
Why wouldn’t he just post the link?
Its time the Constitution took center stage at townhalls ... Quiz the congressional clunkers.

Make that a precedent and the cowards will either stop having them or REALLY stack the questioners, good to see that at least now and then some real questions get asked.
For the longest while we thought the ACLU was protecting the Constitution. Then I read about how the ACLU was formed during the Wilson Administration, to destroy the Constitution.
we need an alternative.
Some questionable blogs are "monetized" with advertisements
and it's become quite a humorous activity among DUers to
promote a fake "conservative" blog on FR (basically doing
nothing more than embedding a video) and runiing ads for DU on the blog.
This causes FReepers to generate revenue for DU.
It should be a bannable offense if you ask me.
Personally, I believe the person asking the question of the Congressman missed an excellent opportunity. The opportunity to point out the words "Powers herein granted was missed.
Those are the most important words in the Constitution. By those words, "Powers herein granted" we see how the founders went about limiting government powers. By those words we learn that the government only has the specifically enumerated powers and no others. If the Constitution does not specifically say the government can, then the government cant.
The Socialist asserts that later words in the Constitution trump previous words. The Constitution is a homogenous document. The only way later words can change previous words is by amendment. The most glaring example is the way the socialist presents the general welfare clause. This clause in Article 1. Section 8, does say the Congress is to provide for the common Defense and general welfare of the United States. However, it is not an added power; it simply means to provide for the general welfare within the herein granted powers. The socialist attempts to twist the meaning as if it adds a power which implies that the powers of government are unlimited.
The next example is how the socialist attempts to twist the meaning of the following words, also in Article I. Section 8. To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper. These words exist but they are followed with these words, for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States. Pay particular attention to the words the foregoing Powers. This refers to the foregoing Powers listed in Article 1. Section 8.
If you understand this then the 10th amendment makes a great deal of sense when it says The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The Constitution is not about the people. The Constitution is about how the government will function within those herein granted powers. In other words, the Constitution is about how to govern the government.
"On every question of construction [of the Constitution], let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invent against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." - Thomas Jefferson
Oh, I get it.
It is just being self-serving and selfish without a care for FR or conservatism.
Childish self promotion at the expense of others or downright theft for lefty websites.
Gotcha!
