A reporter asked House Judiciary Committee Chairman, John Conyers, where in the constitution is the government given power to mandate that the people purchase health insurance. He answered under several clauses
the good and welfare clause
and, uh..a couple others.
Ohhh, now it all makes sense! Here I thought the government mandating any individual to engage in commerce was unconstitutional. Come to find out that power is given to congress in the good and welfare clause of the constitution. Thanks for clearing that up john.
Now, where exactly is this good and welfare clause? It must be just after the right to a large mountain dew and a big mac.

Isn’t Conyers the one who said last year that he needed 2 lawyers to tell him what’s in the bill? Even though he’s an attorney?

What the hell is the ‘Good and Welfare Clause’? Are these idiots using Constitution 1.5 and I’m still using 1.0?

I must be using MS-Constitution and need to upgrade. For goodness sake don't say that!
Now we will start getting replies stating if we had just used the IConstitution it would not have gotten this Trojan! :-)

I would have asked him if the Detroit jail will allow conjugal visits with his crooked wife, just to irritate the hell out of the jerk.

good and smart lawyers told him "don't worry, john, this won't effect you at all, you still get you 100% paid-for-by-the-government prefered health plan, AND the idiots in your constituency will think you're giving them completely free healthcare and will keep voting for you. it's win-win!"

I wonder if he actually thought people would buy this? “Oh, if he says there is a good and welfare clause, then there must be. After all, he is the House Judiciary Committee Chairman.”
