Friends, Romneybots, CBSnewmen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Palin, not to praise her.
The gaffes that candidates do lives after them;
The good is oft interred on the cutting-room floor;
So let it be with Palin. The noble Frum
Hath told you Palin was uncultured:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Palin answer'd it.
Here, under leave of Brooks and the rest -
For Brooks is an honourable man;
So are they all, all honourable men -
Come I to speak in Palin's funeral.
She was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Wallace says she was rebellious;
And Wallace is an honourable woman.
She hath brought many operatives home to Wasilla
Whose ransoms did the Alaska coffers fill:
Did this in Palin seem ambitious?
When that mothers of special-needs children have cried, Palin hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Couric says she was out of touch;
And Couric is an honourable womman.
You all did see that on the Campaign
I thrice prevented her an open microphone,
Which she did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Schmidt says she was dishonest;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what Schmidt spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love her once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to mourn for her?
O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
My heart is in the Tea Party there with Palin,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
But these are self made.
If only liberals were that clever? Then again, if they were, they wouldn't be liberals.
