Voter Attitudes Towards Health Care Plan Harden - 58% Opposed Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Many have questioned whether those who favor or oppose the health care plan in Congress really know what’s in it. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey suggests that they have a decent understanding of the bill and that voter attitudes towards the legislation have hardened.

While several individual components of the plan are popular, reminding voters of what’s included in the plan has virtually no impact on support for the overall legislation. This suggests that there are not major surprises in the legislation that will cause people to change their opinion of it.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) of voters nationwide support the plan, and 58% are opposed. That’s consistent with our weekly tracking of the issue which has found support between 38% and 41% every week from just before Thanksgiving to the end of 2009.

The new figures include 19% who Strongly Favor the plan and 46% who Strongly Oppose it.

Wait until more details leak out including the massive new taxes. My bet is by February there will be close to 75% in opposition. How arrogant can members of Congress be that they can ignore a huge popular backlash to Obamacare? There will be a Democrat bloodbath in the November elections.

Now if only a majority of our elected representative gave a damn about what their constituents think...

Election Night will be fun...watching the talking heads’ faces as Dems drop like flies, and right about midnight, when they have to declare that the GOP has taken the House and might take the Senate...which we won’t know “until the wee hours” (which translates to - weeks later when the recounts are done).

It doesn't matter to Obama.

He will USE and ABUSE all who are BRIBED to help him

When elections roll around, he'll do his best to STEAL the election through VOTER FRAUD or put new LYING HEATHENS, Demoncrats in to run against the GOP. Of course these new Demoncrats will have already been bought off ready to hit the ground running and LYING for the Fuehler, Obama.

Shame on Rassmusen for using Newspeak in their headline. For those of us who still speak English, "health care" does not denote the same thing as "health insurance", "government-run health insurance", or "socialized medicine".

NO ONE OPPOSES HEALTH CARE!!! Well, unless it's for themselves in or a loved one with an incurable terminal illness, and even then only the vain attempts to prolong life, not palliative care.

But a heck of a lot of us oppose government attempts to take over health care to an even greater extent than it has already.

Ask your friends:

"Why is Congress passing 0bamaCare when the vast majority of Americans hate it?"

(We know the answer, of course, but make your neighbors think......)

I’d like to see a break-down by state & cong district. For example, the IL 8th, 10th, 11th and 14th should be Republican. But 3 have Dem incumbents and the 4th is likely to go Dem in 2010. How does the Healthcare debate (and other issues) play in each of those districts?
In the 11th, young Republican Kinsinger is likely to win because he caught a purse-snatcher and received good publicity about it.

In the 14th nepotism is likely to win the primary and lose to the Dem on that issue which is (correctly in this case) seen as part of the corruption in the IL GOP.

In the 8th and 10th I’m not sure who will win the primary. But from what I’ve seen so far, none of them has the gravitas to win in November.

So at least 58% of Americans aren’t as dumb as Congress thinks they are.

They will still jam it down our throats. Some have asked why they would, the only reason thay would is because this is not about health care. It is about government control over the lives of the citizens, plain and simple.
