AMERICANS FOR LIMITED GOVERNMENT RELEASE 'BLUE DOG' DEMOCRATS' VOTING RECORDS
THE FREEDOM POST ^ | December 28, 2009 | Matthew Burke

Posted on 12/28/2009 3:28:52 PM PST by TheFreedomPoster

Americans for Limited Government (ALG) today released the voting records of some 90 Blue Dog and what it dubbed “so-called moderate” House Democrats on what ALG President Bill Wilson called “some of the most controversial votes of 2009.”

“So-called Blue Dog ‘conservative’ Democrats in the House have long touted their caucus as being fiscally-responsible, but what emerges from an analysis of their voting records is a pack of lapdogs who have voted largely in lock-step with their more radical counterparts in House leadership,” said Wilson...

“Oh goody...now we know who to target FIRST!”

Distance? Wind speed? Lighting conditions? Use of cover?

The States and "We, the People" must have a say in what the elected representatives are doing to destroy liberty.

"Resolved, That the General Assembly of Virginia, doth unequivocally express a firm resolution to maintain and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of this State, against every aggression either foreign or domestic ... That this Assembly doth explicitly and peremptorily declare, that it views the powers of the federal government, as resulting from the compact, to which the states are parties; as limited by the plain sense and intention of the instrument constituting the compact; as no further valid than they are authorized by the grants enumerated in that compact; and that in case of deliberate, palpable, and dangerous exercise of other powers, not granted by the said compact, the states who are parties thereto, have the right, and are in duty bound, to interpose for arresting the progress of the evil, and for maintaining within their respective limits, the authorities, rights and liberties appertaining to them." -- James Madison, 1799

" RESOLVED: That the principle and construction contended for by sundry of the state legislatures, that the general government is the exclusive judge of the extent of the powers delegated to it, stop nothing short of despotism; since the discretion of those who administer the government, and not the constitution, would be the measure of their powers:
"That the several states who formed that instrument, being sovereign and independent, have the unquestionable right to judge of its infraction; and that a nullification, by those sovereignties, of all unauthorized acts done under colour of that instrument, is the rightful remedy."
-- Thomas Jefferson, 1799

I would be interested to see how several of our Republican friends voted on some of those very same measures. I bet that several have just as many ayes as some of these "blue dogs".

Although, to be fair, Boehner has done a fairly good job keeping the Republican caucus in line - plus, many of the more liberal GOPers were voted out the last two elections.

I’d wager that all of them voted for Pelosi as Speaker.

That should be enough of a reason to vote against any Congressman.

The political fallout for 2010 has began.

There is a tremendous opportunity to bring real hope and change to DC next Novemebr, only ten months plus away.

The Dems have be defeated. It is now or never, literally.

Gee, what a surprise!!! / Sarc. Let it not be said that the "moderates" in their districts who supported them were not forewarned.

One ray of hope: last week one of their bunch converted to the the GOP. Hopefully a few more will have the guts to do the same.

Here in the 2d District of Kansas, we were represented for two years by Nancy Boyda, who tried to represent herself as a Blue Dog Democrat. After she made an incredibly ignorant gaff concerning General Jack Keene, I had a long conversation with her as she tried in vain to play damage control. She played up the Blue Dog spiel, but I wasn’t buying. I pointed out that every time that Nancy Pelosi really needed her vote, she got it and that her Kansas constituents were intelligent enough to figure that out. She didn’t believe it and continued to lie to those in her district about who she was and what side she was on.

We tossed her out at the last election. Blue Dogs need to be exposed for what they really are and should be sent packing just like Nancy.

I've frequently said to my wife that so-called "conservative" blue dog dems are a fraud, there are no conservative democrats, just liberal democrats who lie about who they really are. She counters with "both parties lie".

The difference, as I see it, is that there are conservative republicans and liberal republicans, and both basically admit what they are. A republican in New York City, for instance, is for gay marriage and gun control and abortion, etc. He'll admit it, and he'll mean it. Arlen Specter, for instance, ran last time on the premise that he was "an independant voice", i.e. not really a republican. They'll call themselves moderate, or say they can reach across the aisle, it all means the same thing. But one thing liberal republicans do not do is call themselves conservative.

Democrats, on the other hand, will lie. They will say they are conservative to win in conservative districts, but the record tells the tale. Some might support gun rights, but other than that they are just plain liberal. My assertion: there are NO fiscally responsible democrats in this congress right now, not one. Prove me wrong.

We the people were the only ones duped with this blue dog sillyness. They never intended to be the ones to save the day. They played with each and every one of us. Criminal hold outs for cash. This was all planned ahead of time. We will have the last laugh and hopefully we can ban these idiots and thier idiology for decades to come, but we also need to smack down the RHINOS. We need a hard right turn before we can ever think of softening the stance some what.

"Blue Dogs are a myth."

Rush has basically said that for years.
