Low key visit to Fort Hood by President and Mrs. Bush

No photo ops, no grandstanding, no comments--just a quiet comforting visit from former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura to Fort Hood, Texas.

After traveling to the base, which is about 30 miles from their ranch, the former first couple spent about two hours visiting the wounded before slipping away as unobtrusively as they arrived, specifically telling the base commander no press coverage according to Bill Sammon of Fox News.

A fine example to set. Except President Obama decided to take a break from passing health care reform and holiday at Camp David.

The worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11 and Obama can't even make it to Fort Hood to visit his wounded troops?

An interesting contrast, don't you think?

"An interesting contrast, don't you think?"

Yep...

Keeping America safe for eight years is worth a lot...

This has kept me baffled for days now. I simply can’t understand what B.Insane O. might be thinking. Certainly not thinking of the welfare of the troops, nor the public at large.

I suspect a visit from President Bush meant more anyway.

Obama will show up eventually. Pfft.

The actions (or lack thereof) of both Presidents is quite what I would expect.

There’s “class” and there’s ????? If that couple in the WH were worth what they think they are, we could sell them to a foreign country and pay off our deficit. Only one stipulation - NO RETURNS...

I simply can’t understand what B.Insane O. might be thinking.

One thing is certain, BO is always, and I mean Always thinking of himself.

He is a narcissist. Empathizing with others is simply an impossible task for him.

U.S. President Barack Obama (L) waves as he walks with his family (L-R), mother-in-law Marian Robinson, daughter Sasha, first lady Michelle Obama and daughter Malia on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington before their departure for a weekend to Camp David November 7, 2009.

If I was a wounded soldier and 0 visited me and was glad I was doing well, I’d say ‘oh, don’t go jumping to conclusions. I could still die of secondary infection, so cheer up yourself.’

We owe a great debt of gratitude to George W. Bush. Was he the perfect conservative while in office? No. But was he unfailingly polite, dignified, honorable, and a true leader who kept our county safe for 8 years? Absolutely. President George W. Bush was less a politician and more of a statesman during his time in office. He carried the burden of the presidency well, and never failed to show respect for the office we bestowed upon him. I miss him everyday. The Muslim Marxist currently sitting in the Oval Office could learn a lot from President Bush.

Say what you will about W, I liked him and Mrs. Bush. She is a class act. And I miss her greatly.
