Do you believe there should be immediate racial profiling in the military or should we continue on as usual with political correctness?
I think its a lot higher than that.
They are trying to get it to 15,000 apparently.
Let’s not call it racial profiling. They should be evaluated to determine if they are a threat to America and American citizens.
My sense is that is much higher as well.

Why bother...some of these guys are the sharpest, most productive Americans alive - and will come out squeaky-clean. Their only problem is that they’re basically hypnotized and can trigger any time.

Thanks - back then, we didn’t deal with PC. We simply had to win, and that was it...we didn’t have the luxury of losing ships, aircraft, and personnel back then...since we were, at the beginning, barely hanging on.

The point is, WWII wasn't about religion, or religious ideology. It was about nationalism and economics. Not the case with the Muzzies.

I don’t know the history, but what you say doesn’t surprise me, or contradict me.
In WW2, it wasn’t racism that kept the Japanese out of the Pacific, it was taking the steps needed to win.

We must do more than profiling for those inside and outside of the military...
Does anyone remember learning about the “Indian Mutiny” in 1857? Fellow travelers among Muslim members of the armed forces could orchestrate a far greater inside rebellion...especially if coordinated from an external command center in, say, the tribal regions of Pakistan.
Ask that question again after the first mushroom cloud appears over a major American city. Then again, it may take two or three of those clouds and a few acts of Muslim terrorism (what other kind is there?) before America can make up its mind.

Why stop at Muslims? Anyone in the military who disagrees with the politics should be out. Not sure it matters if this guy was Muslim, outside of this being a first. Of all those in an American uniform who turned on their own before, none of them were Muslim, and as someone else pointed out here, there’s no shortage of Muslims on the military. As much as it’d be nice to see them all booted out, ain’t gonna happen without the evidence of this being more than an isolated indecent, let’s be realistic.

He was captured by the Japanese on Java in the Dutch East Indies. It took the Japanese Army a while to figure out he was Japanese-American, they saw him as just another gaijin.

I’ve served 19 years and have deployed, trained, and lived with muslim airmen beside me. I am not muslim.
Please be careful in grouping our armed forces muslims in with the run-of-the-mill citizen muslims. These men and women give a lot more to our country than most citzens do and deserve the benefit of the doubt. This was ONE killer out of 15,000 serving.
I have NO DOUBT this Ft Hood Major was a muslim extremist terrorist when he was pulling the trigger. Hopefully the bureacracy and PC red tape that prevented his leadership from taking action against him prior to the cowardly murders, will be cut for good and protect us.

US military forces in WWI and WWII included many German-Americans who fought against Germany.
Likewise, there were many Japanese-Americans who fought against Japan in WW II.
A simple Google search or two will give you some facts.
I’m not a person of any particular religion, but find it strange that you relate people of specific religions to race or ethnicity.
We should build a special base just for them.

That I couldn’t tell you, I don’t have a crystal ball. Having said that, I can say that I’m sold on Teddy Roosevelt’s view of hyphenated Americans. You’re either in or out and that goes for everybody who accentuates the hyphen.
