Newt, IMO, really did himself in with this. I *do* like Newt, in general, as a person who speaks intelligently.
I do not consider this much of a loss, because I have considered him positively unelectable for many years.
But IMO he really nailed himself into his own coffin with this scoffowhatza deal.
Anti-Newt sentiment has some definite democrat party disruptor troll component. After initially supporting democrat party mole Scuzzy, Newt then changed his support to Doug Hoffman, forcing Scuzzy out of the race.
I say, lets cool the rhetoric.
Newt will show up on Greta or Hannity saying there was misguided emotions blah blah blah. Newt...go back to the classroom you so loved to teach in and start re-learning what the GOP used to be.
This will be good for him, if he realizes that he doesn't have a monopoly on brains in the party.

I think Newty was told by the ptb in the gop that he either abandon conservatives and grab the “new majority” - moderates - or he was done for and would not be running in 2012. Big mistake. Moderates will never be the majority and conservatives are not going along to get along with the rinos anymore. Rinos say “who else are you going to vote for?” They used to say that before Reagan, too.
