Most cable news ratings are going to show declines from their election year heyday last fall, but for MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show (which debuted in September, 2008) those year over year declines have made October, 2009 its lowest rated month ever in both average viewers and the cable news targeted adults 25-54 demo, down 54% and 65% respectively from October, 2008

Maddow hasn’t changed at all since his show started last year. It must be a mystery to him why his ratings have dropped so.
Maybe he needs to change up the format a little, and emulate Olberman’s show. Olberman’s show hasn’t changed at all, and she has maintained her low ratings at the same level from the start.

And just like Wesley Crusher, he/she/it needs to be put in the photon torpedo tube and sent on her way. As to comparing him/her/it to K.Reeves, puh-leeze! Don’t mess with The Matrix. In my opinion, those so-called movies aren’t movies, they are documentaries.

PMS-NBC is “not really a news station” and that much of the programming is “not really news”.

Joy Behar is on opposite Maddow and is bleeding a good portion of her audience away. Maddow tends to be snide and cool, while Behar is loud and nasty. Those that want the red meat turn to Headline News. This isn’t a large audience but it’s enough for Maddow to take a big dive.
Maddow had been declining anyway. Her show is after all just a very slightly classier version of Olbermann’s, hitting the same editorial line with mostly the same guests. Almost a rerun, and who really needs that immediately following the original, but Behar expedites the decline.
btw, calling Maddow “him”, isn’t that on the same level as those who think its hilarious to call Ann Coulter “Mann” Coulter ?
Rachel Mancow makes Helen Thomas look good. Yes, I really said that.
I had never seen Rachel Maddow before -- had no idea who she was, though the name was familiar. She is amazingly androgynous. When she gets out of bed in the morning, she can decide whether strangers she meets that day will think that she is male or female.
Maddow reminds me of this Swedish supermodel, Adina Fohlin:
