...Who is who? Tommy Smothers was a folk singer turned comic along with his brother Dicky in the sixties. They were liberal, and on their Telly show, extremely anti- Nixon. Nixon had a large role in the cancellation of their show on CBS. Much like Obamas enemies list against conservative opinion folks...

I'd say the problem is that liberals aren't really liberals. They're radical leftists. Penn is a true liberal. He really buys into the idea that Beck has a right to say whatever he wants. He's a genuinely tolerant atheist and is open-minded enough that he can allow himself to agree with Beck if that's where the facts lead. That Beck is a Morman doesn't color Penn's view in the least. The truth is the truth. I wish everyone that labeled themselves liberal were like Penn. We'd be much better off as a nation, IMO.
