As Promised Obama Proposes Radical Reduction in US Nuclear Arsenal

Obama promised to neuter America before the election in one of his campaign ads to supporters:

That was one promise he decided to keep.

As promised, Barack Obama will go ahead with his plan to weaken America's stand in the world. The Guardian reported today that Obama is pushing a radical plan to eliminate not hundreds but thousands of the nation's strategic warheads, via Free Republic.

Barack Obama has demanded the Pentagon conduct a radical review of US nuclear weapons doctrine to prepare the way for deep cuts in the country's arsenal, the Guardian can reveal.

Obama has rejected the Pentagon's first draft of the "nuclear posture review" as being too timid, and has called for a range of more far-reaching options consistent with his goal of eventually abolishing nuclear weapons altogether, according to European officials.

Those options include:

• Reconfiguring the US nuclear force to allow for an arsenal measured in hundreds rather than thousands of deployed strategic warheads.

• Redrafting nuclear doctrine to narrow the range of conditions under which the US would use nuclear weapons.

• Exploring ways of guaranteeing the future reliability of nuclear weapons without testing or producing a new generation of warheads.

The review is due to be completed by the end of this year, and European officials say the outcome is not yet clear. But one official said: "Obama is now driving this process. He is saying these are the president's weapons, and he wants to look again at the doctrine and their role."

The move comes as Obama prepares to take the rare step of chairing a watershed session of the UN security council on Thursday. It is aimed at winning consensus on a new grand bargain: exchanging more radical disarmament by nuclear powers in return for wider global efforts to prevent further proliferation.

Of course, as Obama goes ahead with this radical reduction Iran and Venezuela are moving forward with their nuclear programs.

Well, let’s see... Obama is going after CIA agents who went after the people that caused 9-11. He’s also doing away with missile defense in Europe while letting Iran have the bomb. He’s also bullying Israel in favor of the malcontent and suicidal palestinians. Pissing on our allies and rewarding our enemies. Now that Iran can get the bomb, he’s going to do away with our nuclear deterrent. He’s also basically surrending in Afghanistan and will turn our victory in Iraq into an upsetting defeat.

On the Domestic front, he’s working hard at destroying the economy with National Healthcare, Cap and Trade and committing generational theft with Stimulus and all his other spending.

We are weaker and more broke than ever before.

He is not king or dictator...therefore this has to be approved by congress. Any congressman that goes along with this will forfeit his job.

I'm not recommending anyone harm the president, he is a family man. But if something were to happen to him, would Joe Biden be any better? or eve Nanci Polesi? The reason Russia did not nuke us in the 50’s and 60’s was because we had more and they would die too. Does no body understand that? There will always be someone on the block that is feared. if he moves across town, someone else will take his spot. If America losses our statue in the World, China, Iran, Russia, Or Pakistan will try to replace it.

I'm not recommending something happen to the president, But would we be better off if it did? I don't think the people that would replace him would be any better.

2010 needs to clear the congress. 2012 we need to elect a NON politician. build our military more then ever and sit on our shores knowing the world would not dare touch us. knowing that if they did, they themselves would be taken out. If we drop our guard. we will cease to be a nation that can walk the streets freely w/o fear of an attack on a daily basis. car bombing, suicide attacks will be a daily event.

this must stop now. however it needs to be done.

“I’m not recommending something happen to the president, But would we be better off if it did?”

- Of course we would be better off. Biden is your basic run-of-the-mill Democrat. We would have to worry about him confiscating our guns..but he would be too intellectually inept to try and eliminate our nuclear arsenal, tax us to death with crap and trade, or rahm through legislation that would kill health care in this country (though I dont doubt he’d try).

Obama is a hardline COMMUNIST..not really comparable to Biden, the class clown.

First, lets look at the numbers. The United States maintains an arsenal of about 5,500 warheads as of 2008. These break down into 5,021 “strategic” warheads, 1,050 of which are deployed on land-based missile systems (all on Minuteman ICBMs), 1,955 on bombers (B-52, B-1B, and B-2), and 2,016 on submarines (Ohio classOf 500 “tactical” “nonstrategic” weapons, around 100 are Tomahawk cruise missiles and 400 are B61 bombs. A few hundred of the B61 bombs are located at seven bases in six European NATO countries (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey and the United Kingdom), the only such weapons in forward deployment). The Russian Federation maintain an stockpile of 5200 warheads as of 2008.I hope that Secretary Gates will show the President that it would be suicide to cut missiles when we do not have the same commitment from the Russians that have an advantage.

Impeachment, treason trial, guilty verdict, execution.
