I’m not so sure Bud Light qualifies as beer.

If Obama and Gates wanted to stick with an appropriate American beer, I'd suggest Stone Brewing Company.

I’ll guess:
Crowley - Blue Moon
Gates - Red Stripe
Obamessiah - Bud Light (because he THOUGHT it was an American company)
Blue Moon and Red Stripe are both excellent. I wouldn’t let my dog drink Bud Light.

More froth than beer in this brew-haha. Obama probably didn’t know who owns Bud; he’s guilty of much worse anyway.
Not a beer drinker, but it would’ve been really cool if Officer Crowley had requsted a Sam Adams, just as a little reminder of why there is a White House.

Sure hope they provided an Orange slice with the Blue Moon.Any good bartender/host knows to do that.
Understand the venue was changed to the Rose Garden.

A store near me carries it and at a fairly good price. I sampled a Double Bastard awhile back and was sound asleep in a couple hours.

"Blue Moon, a Belgian-Style witbier brewed by the Molson Coors Brewing Company in Toronto, Ontario, was launched in 1995. In Canada it is marketed as Rickard's White[2]. Originally called Bellyslide Belgian White, it was
created by Keith Villa, a brewmaster at Coors Field's Sandlot Brewery (the onsite brewery owned by the Molson Coors Brewing Company)."
somewhat American beer I guess.

Blue Moon and Red Stripe are both excellent.I tried Red Stripe one time and found it to be decidedly sub-excellent.
It tasted like an aluminum can though, oddly enough, I was drinking it from a glass bottle.

Carling Black Label would be appropriate.

I’ve tasted that also, and I suspect it’s because the Red Stripe was chilled, allowed to get warm, and chilled again. You have to buy a lager like Red Stripe from a reputable establishment.

"Im not so sure Bud Light qualifies as beer." In a lot of countries it wouldn't, at all. There's a LOT of really great American beer, but most of them are from brewers you wouldn't know unless you live in that part of the country. The fact of the matter is beer, like wine, doesn't lend itself to large, super-commercial mass production as seen in Miller and Budweiser - sorry to all those Miller and Budweiser lovers.

Buy micro brews, end of bad beer, foreign influence, problem solved.
