Statement from Sarah Palin on Legal Fund News Report
Facebook Sarah Palin ^ | 07/2109 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 07/21/2009 10:54:15 PM PDT by Cecilia Trent

"I find the notion that I have taken any action pertaining to the legal defense trust fund misguided and factually in error. I am informed that this fund was created by experienced attorneys in DC and was modeled after other similar funds established for senators and others. The fund itself was not created by me nor is it controlled by me. Neither I nor my lawyer has received a penny from this fund, and I am informed the Trustee was withholding any action or payment pending final resolution with the Personnel Board. This is the hallmark of legal compliance and prudent conduct.

In short, I have not 'acted' relative to the defense fund and it is misleading to say I have. I have no doubt that the Trust will welcome guidance by the Board, as do we all, but it is my understanding that this matter was not resolved and the complainant's violation of law has served to mislead the public and prejudice a fair review of this matter."

Another part of the coordinated plan to destroy Sarah Palin. She was 100% correct in her decision to resign the Alaska Governorship. She is not a quitter and has not let down the people of Alaska. She is an intelligent and perceptive woman who refused to allow herself and her family to be financially destroyed by these sleazy tactics. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

John Coale, a Washington lawyer who helped set up the fund, called the probable cause finding "crazy," adding that if upheld, it would mean that no governor could ever defend themselves against frivolous ethics complaints.

The ruling can't come from an investigator, it has to come from the ethics board. This is all a bunch of Bravo Sierra.

July 26th, Sarah will unleash hell on the libs and RINOS. I can’t wait. They are crapping their pants as we speak. LOVED the statement that Sarah made, it was perfect..now that idiot Chapman is denying she is the one that leaked the story to the AP Obama. Yeah right Kim, so they just went POOF and there was the story right in front of them. I wasn’t born yesterday. Geez these Libs make me sick, but it is awesome that Sarah makes them squirm

She got another $25 from me when the story came out...

I’ve given $50 to the Alaska Fund Trust so fair.

take that, libtards.

Exactly. All these “ethics complaints” are designed to create a perception in the mind of the public that Sarah has really been involved in unethical dealings. The people doing it know that perception not reality is all that matters. They are conducting a campaign of “legal hit and run”.

If they can create the perception she is unethical they win. Thats why all of this crap they are spewing needs to be met with the most severe reprisals.

A couple of my liberal coffee-shop friends were already chuckling about this rumor, now the tables are being turned. This event is actually good news. Sooner or later the liberals with marginal abilities to reason will find that they have been played as world-class suckers and will walk away from the dark side.

They’ve already overdone it. They have turned themselves into the boy who cried wolf. After all this, the left can say “She had twenty-five (or whatever the final number is) ethics complaints. She can’t be trusted.” The only people who will believe those charges were warranted and valid are too stupid to vote for her anyway. When the truth is told, and I have no doubt Sarah will report it herself directly to the people, the leftards will look like exactly what they are - desperate, grasping, corrupt liars.. Whomever has taken over Sarah’s press advising lately has been doing a good job.

The Clintons perfected the art of the legal defense fund.

Everything Sarah has been involved in is perfectly legal.

After July 25th, the Personnel Board has no jurisdiction over her anyway, so their opinion is moot. She’s a private citizen then.

And on July 26th, her lawyer can write them a letter and tell them politely to get lost.

Sarah should threaten to refuse to pay any legal bills herself and turn them directly over to the State of Alaska if the State doesn’t back off. After all, the expenses were incurred in her official capacity as Governor. That would be a court battle worthy of pay for view.

I hope her book goes into great detail about how 0bama operatives in AK have been targeting her by abusing the ethics laws that she herself put in place to clean up corruption in AK. I have no doubt that her book will be a best seller, so it could go a long way to cleaning up all this mess.

Apparently she has that option now, and is choosing to NOT penalize the taxpayers of Alaska with the costs. And here they are, condemning her for that very thing. Amazing.

Its important that the Personnel Board find Palin not guilty on all of these ethic charges even when she does leave office. If the Board finds Palin guilty on just one charge, the media will say, “See look, Palin quit because she was found guilty.”

Give the money to SarahPAC instead. AFT funds are locked up and cannot be accessed until a final ruling is made on its legality.
